Job Duties
The Service Advisor will perform automotive services in a timely and efficient manner while providing quality customer service. Associates will be trained to achieve Level I status.
Assist customers with their purchases in a customer service and sales focused environment.
Utilize computers to determine product inventory levels and product arrival dates. Utilize computers and VAST system to set up work orders for customers, schedule service work and communicate to the service department.
Explain work orders and invoices to customers.
Perform Retail Cashier Duties by obtaining and processing customer payments.
Install batteries, balance wheels, repair and install tires when required.
Perform oil changes using LOF procedures when required.
Demonstrate awareness and compliance with Loss Prevention and safety policies and procedures.
Ability to interpret vehicle inspection results and make appropriate service recommendations to customers.

Specifically

Inspect vehicle and required parts and accessories to determine safe operating condition prior to departure and incrementally throughout trip.
Check shipping papers to determine nature of load and any special hazards, and check load itself and methods of securing it.
Operate vehicle in compliance with company rules and all applicable state and federal regulations, and in accordance with accepted principles of safe driving.
Deliver freight to consignees, including oversized loads with specific permit instructions, using common sense and consideration to unique job sites and related constraints.
Pick up freight as required.
Load and unload freight as required.
Collect freight charges as instructed per McFarlanes Retail Service Center.
Chaining strapping and tarping loads as needed.
Perform other related work as required.
The brakes of highway trucks shall be set and wheel chocks placed under the rear wheels to prevent the trucks from rolling while they are boarded with powered industrial trucks.
Report all accidents, incidents of equipment damage involving driver or company equipment.
Maintain trip records as required.
Maintain for compliance with state and federal regulations including driver s logs, records of fuel purchases, mileage records, etc., utilizing e-log in addition to paper log as needed.
Proper use and care of all equipment assigned to him/her for the performance of his/her duties.
Reports promptly any delays that will affect pick up or delivery appointments.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
HS Diploma or equivalent.
