JOB SUMMARY
CNC Machinist III is responsible for operating and programming a 5-axis CNC machine tool. Scope and Responsibilities:

As indicated, perform minor disassembles to perform interior operations. Assemble. Position and remove work by means of bridge cra0ne or electric hoists.
Install programs when available in console reader and correlate machine position with control; manually cycle machine through operation sequence to check work alignment, tooling sequences, clearances, speeds, feeds, etc., and adjust the machine to correct. Recognize and report errors in programming and operations, and work with systems and programming personnel to correct such errors; recommend tooling applications and operational sequences to assist in formulating practical programming for new and unusual machining operations.
May occasionally demonstrate to customers the operation and machine capacity, on production or customer parts. Occasionally requested to demonstrate machine in customer plants. Diagnose operating difficulties and make appropriate adjustments to realign machine, change tooling, etc., to correct operations or dimensional deviations. Work from complicated drawings, specifications, programming setup instructions and data. Use micrometers, scale, protractor, bo1re gages, Vernier's, surface gauges, indicators, etc., to make setups and check work.
Work is subject to inspection process.
Proceed with a minimum of supervision. Operator must be alert to operations. Detect and report any unusual conditions, defective material or machine malfunctions and report to supervision. Maintain work area in a clean, productive and orderly manners. Perform other related duties as directed.

* Proven experience/knowledge in setting up/operating manual machine.
* Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings etc.
* Good understanding of quality control principles.

* High school diploma; Higher degree from a technical school will be appreciated.
