Duties and Responsibilities
Performed preventative die maintenance in a timely manner
Diagnose and complete needed repairs to existing dies
Make new parts, grind, mill, lathe, read work orders and die repair sheets
Observe all safety requirements including personal protective equipment (PPE)
Understands and identifies Lockout/tag out procedures
Completes all required documentation
Assists other workers with specific chores as requested
Ability to insert/remove molds and/or dies
Mold and trim die preparation
Inspect and/or clean molds and return them to storage racks
Performs tool changes and final adjustments
Performs basic and intermediate troubleshooting and adjustment of processing problems
Ability to fabricate minor parts
Performs intermediate maintenance and repair on tooling
Supports the Plant's Food Safety initiatives by completing plant required Food Safety training and by implementing / complying with the required practices
Follow all safety and sanitation procedures
Actively participate in the company behavior based safety process
Requirements and Qualifications
Successfully served a Four-year Tool and Die Apprenticeship
Ability to use a variety of hand tools, powered tools, automated tools and precision tools
Ability to stand and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
High visual demand and attention to detail
Ability to work overtime as required by business conditions
This position is regularly exposed to mechanical moving parts, the job can be oily, dusty and dirty, there is extreme heat in work area during summer months

Job Title: Tool and Die Maker Pay: Up to $40/hr (Flexible, based on experience) Shift: 1st Shift with Overtime Available
We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing specifications, laying out metal stock, operating machine tools, and assembling precision components. This role requires expertise in tool design, shop mathematics, machining, and assembly procedures to fabricate or repair cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and tool descriptions to plan operations.
Lay out and mark metal stock for machining.
Set up and operate machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and shapers.
Verify conformance of machined parts using micrometers, height gauges, and other measuring instruments.
Assemble parts into tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures, ensuring proper fit and function.
Modify and refine tools as needed.
Maintain statistical process control and obtain first-piece inspection approval.
Diagnose and troubleshoot tooling, material, or machine issues.
Ensure adherence to ISO/TS 16949 work instructions and company safety policies.
Keep the work area clean and organized.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Qualifications & Skills
Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English.
Proficient in measuring parts using precision tools and gauges.
Strong understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and blueprint reading.
Experience with statistical process control and process capability.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and follow verbal/written instructions.
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of experience operating manual tool room equipment.
CNC programming skills and familiarity with 4-slides, Multi-slides, Punch Presses, or wire-forming machines are a plus.
On-the-job training will be provided for company-specific equipment.
Physical Requirements
Frequent use of hands throughout the workday.
Standing and walking for long periods.
Occasional bending, stooping, and twisting.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally.
Work in a shop environment with exposure to loud machinery, dust, oils, and solvents.
