Applicants for this job must have Dragline mechanical repair experience or equivalent and will be required to pass an established weld test. Must possess a strong working mechanical knowledge to accomplish required work on dragline heavy gear box repair and overhauls, including knowledge of general maintenance practices encountered on draglines. Applicant must demonstrate a strong awareness and understanding of work-related safety practices. This person must be able to work at heights (i.e. elevated boom point and tri-structure of draglines). Mechanical experience will include working on heavy, open and enclosed gear systems for draglines (i.e. repair and overhaul). Machinist/Millwright experience and the ability to troubleshoot lubrication systems would be desirable assets. Licensed mobile crane experience is desirable. This position requires working multiple shifts and call-out on a 24-hour basis. Work is completed in varying extremes of environmental conditions with exposure to dust, noise, and adverse weather.

Mechanical experience will include working on heavy, open and enclosed gear systems for draglines (i.e. repair and overhaul). Machinist/Millwright experience and the ability to troubleshoot lubrication systems would be desirable assets. Licensed mobile crane experience is desirable. This position requires working multiple shifts and call-out on a 24-hour basis. Work is completed in varying extremes of environmental conditions with exposure to dust, noise, and adverse weather.

The candidate should have experience machining various materials, taking a project from a blueprint to a completed part with minimal supervision, in a safe and accurate manner.
The machine shop has 3 CNC Vertical Milling machines, a CNC lathe, a wire EDM, a sinker EDM, various precision grinders, as well as manual lathes, Bridgeport mills and
Tracmills.
We use Surfcam for CAD/CAM programming, in up to 4 axis applications.
You will be responsible for developing a plan to fabricate a part, consulting with our Engineering department as needed, program the CNC code, order the materials and tools to do the job, fabricate the part, and verify the accuracy of the finished part.
