Set up, Prove-out and optimize processes to minimize cycle-time and increase probability of success while communicating and working with other departments i.e.) Sales, Engineering, Quality. Train Machine Operators if/when job is turned over to production. Ability to work independently and identify issues, and problem solve in a productive timeframe. Maintains focus on process improvement and reduction of cycle times while maintaining quality. The Toolroom Machinist is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating the CNC Mill to produce parts to precise tolerances. This role collaborates with tool room personnel, outside vendors, engineers, management, and operators to schedule and deliver high-quality parts. Summary/Objective The Shop Specialist and Fabricator position is responsible for ensuring that pump and compressor builds and repairs as well as fab jobs are completed in a timely manner, and to customer satisfaction. This position will work alongside the Meter Build & Repair department as well as our Outside Repair & Build unit. The position will also assist with other tasks and duties as needed. Metal fabrication of guards and accessories. Painting and layout. Safely operate basic machine shop equipment including Lathes, Mills, Presses, Shears, and Brakes. Repair/build truck pumping systems including hydraulic and pto power. Perform compressor rebuild tests and performance checks. Handle quotes and relay them as appropriate. Back up other departments as needed, including assisting with loading/unloading freight, and assisting Meter Build & Repair as well as Onsite Repair & Build positions.
