What are the hours and pay?
11:30 AM-10:00 PM- Monday through Thursday. OT on Fridays as needed
Pay $30-$35 per hour depending on experience
What is the job?
Operates and maintains horizontal mills adjusting feed and speed settings as required
Reviews instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production
Takes precise measurements for cutting and shaping
Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment successfully
Checks output for quality assurance and documents results
Identifies needs and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs
Maintains a clean and safe workstation and environment
Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks and requests as needed
Operates forklift and other machinery as required in a safe, responsible manner
What do you bring to the job?
A high school diploma and technical certificate are preferred
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience, preferred
Experience with large OD micrometers, HMCs
Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety always

What's the Job?
Plan, design, conduct or repair a wide variety of highly intricate and complicated tools, gauges, dies, jigs and fixtures to extremely close tolerances. Experienced with selecting allowances and device mechanism details.
Perform difficult development work and construct tools where no design is available. Perform highly skilled fitting adjusting and timing of tools and machinery.
Perform work involving multi-station progressive dies, intricate compound dies of irregular shape, sub-press dies for parts of delicate outline and complex, index milling fixtures.
Perform any tool room machine operation including CAD/KEY, CNC lathe and other technologies required for tool room operations. Able to work from complicated drawings and sketches.
Used advanced shop mathematics and various types of precision measuring instruments. Apply a high degree of experience, trade skill and thorough knowledge of machine shop practice.

Are you looking to be a part of a growing Tool Room? We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Tool and Die Maker at Nordic Ware in our expanding Tool Making department. As a Tool and Die Maker you will plan, layout and perform machining operations and bench work to construct, alter and repair tools, dies, fixtures, jigs, attachments, machining, molds and gauges. What you will get to do:
Perform die assembly and fitting of new and existing tools.
Work from parts, prints or sketches and verbal instructions, to create parts for tools, replacement parts and factory equipment.
Set up and operate a variety of machines, including lathes, drill presses, milling machines, and grinders, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
Perform bench operations involving project planning and final assembly of material.
Perform rework on worn or damaged parts.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production tools including dies, molds, fixtures and factory equipment during production.
Work with department leads to resolve problems that arise in various departments with machines, dies, tools, etc.
Perform preventive maintenance on production tooling and equipment.
Work collaboratively and cooperatively with department team members and other department Managers and Supervisors to ensure all production requirements are met, to promote most efficient operations for all departments, and to ensure company goals are achieved.
Comply with plant safety rules, policies and regulations and maintain clean and orderly work area.
Use floor jacks, die lifts, hoist and forklifts to move materials.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you will bring to the role:
High School diploma or GED required
Manual machine experience required - including drills, milling machines, grinders, lathes
2+ years tool making experience strongly preferred
Mechanical aptitude
Molding and metal stamping experience strongly preferred.
Accredited Vo-Tech program in Tool and Die making, Industrial Maintenance or equivalent desired
On the job training is provided to familiarize with our production, facility, and supportive equipment.
