JOB SUMMARY: Under direct supervision, partner with manufacturing leadership to provide tactical services in the production of commodities for the organization. Evaluates work for accuracy and completeness in accordance with SOPs and Manufacturing Best Practices. Identifies deviations in process to improve quality and safety of manufacturing. 7. Contributes to quality, safety and lean manufacturing policies, processes or procedures including sustaining a clean workstation and area in accordance with 5S standards. 8. Recognizes and supports continuous improvement efforts with production management team to streamline production procedures. 9. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Press switches and turn knobs to start machines to package products. Observe and listen to equipment to detect possible malfunctions, such as leaks or plugging, and report malfunctions or undesirable tastes to supervisors. Clean materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools. Transport products and ingredients to production and material handling areas. Other duties may be assigned. br/ Is capable of identifying die cast machine mechanical problems and knows when to take action to correct thembr/or to call in help from a mechanic. br/ Capable of safely removing die cast tooling from die cast machine. br/ Knows how to set up trim presses for new jobs. br/ Helps mechanics with set ups on the machines and starting the die cast machine with new jobs. br/ Capable of removing stuck casting without creating any die damage. br/ Trains new die cast operators. br/ Begins to assist the mechanics with changing shot system parameters. br/ Capable of programming and adjusting auto sprayers completely from the beginning steps. br/ Helps mechanics to troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical problems on the die cast machine. /pp Understands how to make minor adjustments and the purpose for doing so to the auto sprayers and can rebuildbr/spray heads. br/ Capable of proficiently assembling plunger tips to correct specifications for the job. br/ Begins to learn set ups on both the die cast machine and the trip press by helping the mechanics. br/ Begins to assist the mechanics with fixing and installing oil lines. br/ Reports any production difficulties or quality problems to immediate supervisor or mechanic. br/ Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends, as production schedules andbr/requirements change on a regular basis according to business needs. br/ Any other duties as assigned. br/ Knowledge of TS and ISO 14001/pp Trimming parts from the gates and separating the parts from the scrap. br/ Assures trim die is free of debris and lubricated properly with each use. br/ Observes the quality of the products for excessive flash, dents, dings, bubbles, or any other defects that do notbr/fall within the accepted quality standards. br/ Responsible for containment of all non-conforming product, and ensuring it is properly identified. br/ Understands when the metal level is too low and how to fill the furnace safely and which metal to use. Knowsbr/to watch the temperature of the metal in the furnace and when to call for help if it gets too hot or too cold. br/ Enters job and production information into Epicor to track activities completed throughout the shift. Is able tobr/record scrap and start up shots in addition to other job activities. br/ Performs in process inspections every two hours on the parts and logging this information onto a sheet. br/ Capable of starting the machine at the beginning of the shift for a job that was previously running. br/ Follows all safety procedures including abiding by all safety latches, locks and gates on the machinery. br/ Covers breaks and lunches at other die cast machines. br/ Can run trim press and inspect parts at a variety of die cast machines and will be expected to move around andbr/work different machines as business levels dictate. br/ Keeps floor and area surrounding workstation clean and free from water and oil. br/ Dumps scrap and doss at the end of the shift and as needed.
