Senior Merchant
Job 22 miles from Lovejoy
At Arbor, we're tearing down outdated practices in home improvement and building materials. Our AI-driven platform isn't here to play it safe-it's here to redefine the way professionals, contractors, and homeowners source materials. We're on the hunt for a merchandising maverick: someone who's not afraid to challenge mediocrity, build brands from scratch, and craft a product portfolio that shatters industry norms.
What You'll Do
Own the Category:
Build, refine, and evolve our product mix in key areas such as premium flooring, innovative tiles, modern cabinetry, and core building supplies. This isn't about managing endless SKUs-it's about strategically curating a world-class assortment that disrupts expectations.
Lead Brand-Building Efforts:
Develop Arbor's private-label brands from the ground up while nurturing and growing national brand partnerships. You'll define what Arbor stands for in every category by using your first‑principles thinking to challenge industry conventions.
Negotiate Like a Pro:
Forge international and domestic supplier relationships on your terms. Expect to negotiate hard-but wisely-balancing aggressive pricing with uncompromising quality.
Drive Data-Backed Innovation:
Leverage cutting‑edge analytics and AI insights to set new benchmarks in forecasting, inventory optimization, and pricing strategy. You're not here to follow data; you're here to transform it into competitive advantage.
Collaborate Across Functions:
Work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with marketing, operations, and tech teams to launch disruptive, customer‑focused merchandising campaigns. Your ideas will directly shape how Arbor redefines a tired industry.
Disrupt the Status Quo:
Test, iterate, and refine every decision from 0‑to‑1. If conventional wisdom says “do it this way,” you'll ask: “Why not do it better?” Our mission is not to maintain but to transform.
What We're Looking For
A True Builder:
You have real 0‑to‑1 experience-ideally in home improvement, building materials, or adjacent sectors-and you've built transformative product strategies from scratch.
Deep Domain Expertise:
You live and breathe categories like flooring, tiles, cabinetry, and building supplies. You know what sells, why it sells, and how to anticipate what customers crave before anyone else does.
Contrarian & First‑Principles Thinker:
Mediocrity bores you. You challenge established norms and approach problems with radical, inventive solutions that have a lasting impact.
Data-Driven, Not Data-Dependent:
You combine rigorous analytics (think forecasting models, competitive benchmarking, and inventory optimization) with relentless intuition and customer insight.
Savvy Negotiator & Relationship Leader:
Your track record in supplier sourcing and international negotiation is legendary. You build relationships that drive mutual success-and you're never afraid to push for better terms.
Hands-On & Entrepreneurial:
This is a startup for bold innovators. You're not interested in sitting back and managing bureaucracy; you want to roll up your sleeves, disrupt an industry, and shape Arbor's future.
Why Arbor?
Challenge the Norm: Join a team where every day is an opportunity to defy the conventions that have held the home improvement industry back.
High Impact, Fast Growth: Your decisions will immediately affect our global presence, drive margin improvements, and define new product categories.
Autonomy & Bold Vision: Enjoy the freedom to innovate, experiment, and implement your ideas with full backing from a founding team that doesn't accept mediocrity.
Competitive Rewards: We offer a compensation package that recognizes top-tier performance-because the best talent deserves nothing less.
If you're a disruptive, hands‑on merchandiser ready to build something extraordinary-and are determined to redefine the industry-let's talk.
