Job Title: Class A CDL City Driver Typical Shift Hours: 7am to 10am start time with an end time between 4pm and 7pm Shift Days : Monday thru Friday Daylight is currently looking for a Class A CDL city driver to join our Family. Our City Driver will successfully operate various tractor-trailer combinations between company service centers and customer facilities or work sites within the domicile service center geographic service area. City Drivers will also be required to sort, handle, load, and/or unload freight at various companies and customer locations. City Drivers are critical members of the Daylight Transport Family; they assist to accurately deliver our and pick up customer's freight and help us be the fastest long-haul LTL in the industry. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Ability to complete the various forms utilized in freight movement such as shipping orders, city stripping manifests, freight bills, overage/damage movement reports and exception forms. · Operate vehicle safely within DOT regulations that govern safe driving, hours of service, inspection, maintenance, and transportation of hazardous materials. · Transport self and/or freight continuously throughout the service center on non-forgiving surfaces. · Perform customer service interaction when on customer work sites to ensure they are getting the services completed to their standard and to Daylight's expectations. Reporting to the Parking Manager, the Shuttle Bus Driver transports students, faculty, staff, and visitors between the South Campus Park and Ride lots and the Main Campus. When shuttle service is not required, the shuttle bus driver assists with other duties, including parking facility maintenance, vehicle cleaning/maintenance and/or general office duties. The driver is also responsible for the safe operation of the shuttle buses which includes daily safety inspections, fueling/servicing and making minor repairs/adjustments as needed. Driver - Class B The Center for Elders' Independence is a PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the elderly) organization that uses an interdisciplinary team approach to care planning and care implementation for the purpose of providing high quality, affordable, integrated health care services to the elderly, including an Adult Day Health Center, and promoting autonomy, quality of life and the ability of individuals to live in their communities. The Position: Under the supervision of the Road Supervisors and Transportation Director, the Driver provides door-through-door transportation to all CEI participants and makes any other deliveries as needed in a positive and helpful manner. In addition, the Driver cleans conducts scheduled vehicle safety inspections, performs routine maintenance and cleaning and paperwork. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Safely operates company vehicles to transport participants to and from their homes, CEI sites, off-site medical appointments, and/or activity outings. Provides physical assistance and monitoring to participants from the pickup or drop-off location to the vehicle and as they get on and off the van, lifting as necessary. May occasionally be instructed to go into participants' homes. Reports any special situation in participants' homes, or while on the road, to the Road Supervisor including changes in participants' behavior or appearance that may indicate an alteration in medical condition. Provides other transportation as directed, including medication or supply delivery. Handles potentially infectious specimens with appropriate biohazard precautions, and practices Universal Precautions. Performs regular maintenance of the vehicle: Cleans daily; completes daily maintenance check list; ensures that vehicle operates effectively with good brakes, lights, and other equipment necessary for safe operation; checks gas, oil and tires on a daily basis.
