Role Summary/Purpose
The Loan Originator will be responsible for sourcing, vetting, fostering, and closing relationships for Merchants Mortgage & Trust's various Bridge Loan programs. Candidates should have relevant experience in providing builders with Bridge financing and should have relationships with loan borrowers active in the residential real estate Fix & Flip & Ground Up construction space. Candidates should be highly motivated, have strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a competitive yet rewarding sales position.

Total Compensation: $75,000 to $130,000+ annually + benefits. This information represents the expected on-target earnings for this role broken down into an hourly base pay plus uncapped commissions and incentives.
What you'll do:
Contact borrowers via phone and email to facilitate the loan application process. Collect required documents from your customers during the application, move the transaction through the underwriting process, and quickly arrange a closing with the customer.
Utilize your strong communication and critical thinking skills to quickly engage borrowers, sell them on the benefits of our loan, and drive the transaction to close in 1 to 2 calls.
Manage a sales pipeline of up to 20 transactions in various stages of completion.

Qualifications

Job Requirements, Competencies, and Skills
Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or other business-related degree preferred, will consider experience in lieu of degree.
Minimum of three years related experience; related work experience in mortgage industry required.
Detailed knowledge of secondary market guidelines and regulations.
Knowledge of the mortgage process from origination to post closing.
Obtain and maintain NMLS license number as required each year, including completion of required education and training.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
Strong decision making and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/duties.
Trustworthy with the ability to maintain the highest level of integrity and trust.
Complies with all requirements for Mortgage Loan Originators set forth in the SAFE Act, including, but not limited to successful completion of the required background checks and obtaining a Unique Identifier from the NMLRS.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Related experiences with loan origination systems preferred but not required.

Hourly Wage: $24.03 to $31.25 per hour. Individual salary will vary based on skills and experience. Discretionary incentive compensation may be available based on company and individual performance.
