    Perform an in-depth analysis of a borrower's qualifications to make a lending decision within the credit unions risk tolerance. Responsibilities * Conducts direct channel loan approvals and denials for 19 consumer products. * Reviews FSO, MRA, FSC, and VSC loan files, identifies errors, and makes corrections * Identifies and suggests alternative options to help members qualify for approvals * Provides on-going education and training to FSO's outside of classroom * Assist with new loan procedures and updating current procedures. * Assist with training new underwriting personnel. * Make sound lending decisions * Identifies lending cross sell opportunities * Builds and maintains relationship with consumer lending vendors in order to uphold lending standards * Support credit union staff in helping them achieve lending goals Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred. 0-2 years lending experience preferred but not required. Good communication and interpersonal skills. General knowledge of lending policies. Ability to always maintain confidentiality of Credit Union and member records. Performance Standards: Ability to deal with pressured situations in a professional manner. Professional in appearance, attitude, and verbal communication. Schedule: Approximately 40 hours within a Monday through Friday work week Travel Requirements: Some local travel Responsibilities: Serve as the first point of contact by answering department phones, taking messages, and ensuring prompt follow-up on commercial loan inquiries. Review commercial and construction loan documents prior to closings to confirm all required documents are prepared for valid funding. Input loan information into the commercial lending systems to assist Commercial Loan Officers efficiently. Process commercial and construction loan disbursements through ACH deposits, wires, or cashier's checks, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Handle incoming draw requests on commercial lines of credit, verifying sufficient documentation is available for final approval by a Commercial Loan Officer. Maintain accurate records for all active commercial and consumer-side residential construction loans, including proper draw requests, inventory inspection reports, lien waivers, indemnity agreements, and funding receipts. Scan and organize tax returns, financial statements, and other loan documents into the commercial lending systems or imaging systems as directed by Commercial Loan Officers. Participate in external events aligned with the business lending mission as assigned. Perform additional duties as directed by the VP of Commercial Lending. Requirements Qualifications: Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year of experience in commercial lending, either at Westmark or a similar financial institution. Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including formula functionality. Strong understanding of loan forms and directives related to loan processing. Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective oral and written communication abilities.
