Lupton Partners is recruiting for the position of Mortgage Loan Officer on behalf of our client, a well-established, family-owned bank based in the Kansas City Metro area. This role is unique compared to traditional mortgage loan officer positions, as it involves collaborating with an assigned group of bank branches to uncover mortgage opportunities within the existing customer base. The Mortgage Loan Officer will work closely with tellers, personal bankers, and business banking teams while also building external referral networks with realtors and other Centers of Influence (COIs) to drive mortgage business growth.
Key Responsibilities

OVERVIEW:
In this managerial role as part of our Loan Operations Department, key duties include: operational oversight, setting goals, organizing workflows, and maintaining reporting tools. In addition, this position oversees imaging and collateral monitoring operational activities, leading and developing team performance, enhancing process efficiency, and ensuring compliance and risk management within the loan operations department.
Essential responsibilities for this role include:
Operational Oversight - 40%
* Set goals, prioritize tasks, organize workflows, and ensure the timely and accurate completion of work.
* Research and compile information for use in monitoring the operations of the post-close review, imaging, and collateral monitoring.
* Provide oversight and guidance for the review of the loan approval and documentation, as well as quality assurance of the boarding and servicing process through the loan life cycle
* Forecast trends in loan production to ensure proper staffing is in place and prepared.
Leadership and Team Performance - 30%
* Determine appropriate staffing model and staffing levels.

Print and send required disclosures (VOE, VOD, VOM). Closes loans with members.*Examines documents such as deed, assignments, and mortgages to ensure compliance with escrow instructions, credit union policy, and legal requirements.*Types notices to government, specifying changes to loan documents, such as mortgage releases.*Answer member phone calls.*Orders property insurance policies to ensure protection against loss on mortgaged property.
