Job Description
The material handler is responsible for the movement of material throughout the site. This may include loading/unloading of trailers and movement of raw materials, work in process (WIP) and finished goods.
This role will be Day Shift, 8a-4p M-F.
Activities and duties may vary depending upon site-specific needs. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
Move material to/from raw, WIP, Finished, Shipping, Receiving, and manufacturing areas.
Unload/load trucks/tankers with incoming/outgoing materials. - Verify materials against receiving/shipping documents.
Complete appropriate transactions to document the movement of material within the Inventory Management System.
Complete warehouse and departmental cycles counts and correct discrepancies.
Help manage rack inventories.
Pick up and transfer material racks, pallets, and other consumable supplies to/from production areas as required.
Condense warehouse space and maintain good housekeeping.
Perform all assignments, duties, and tasks safely following standard procedures and practices. Encourage others to do so. Correct and/or report all unsafe conditions immediately.
Perform duties to improve quality and productivity continuously.
Maintain a safe, clean work area.
Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed.
Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate department/shift employees to ensure effective operations.
Lead in the recycling of pallets, cardboard, and scrap materials.
Support all 5S housekeeping activities.

Receives orders through supervisor from prepared and prioritized work tags.
Pulls orders from inventory, manually and/or utilizing forklift.
Prepares materials for delivery to and/or pick up by customers. Packs materials in boxes or on pallets (as appropriate), and labels accordingly.
Checks filled orders prior to delivery or pick up to ensure accuracy and timeliness of order.
Maintains cleanliness of the overall facility to support safety standards, with an emphasis on the area assigned to the work group.

Summary: The Material Handler ensures the efficient handling, storage and distribution of pharmaceutical materials and products for Orca's cell therapy products, ensuring adherence to strict quality standards and regulatory requirements. This position involves executing processes related to warehouse materials and inventory, kitting materials for production use and managing the movement, intake and shipping of drug products and samples.
Responsibilities
* Receive, inspect and verify incoming materials against orders and documentation
* Ensure materials are moved and stored in their correct locations
* Maintain accurate inventory records, perform cycle counts, and manage material expiration
* Prepare consumable materials kits for use in production
* Movement and transfer of materials including drug products and samples from production
* Maintenance of consumable gowning stock across various facility locations
* Receipt and incoming donor cells and shipment of patient drug productions
* Execution of cold storage practices and cryopreservation of drug products when needed
Education & Experience Requirements
* Minimum of high school diploma or GED
* A.S. degree is preferred, but not required
* Experience with material management systems
* Experience in warehouse operations and material movements
* Cell and gene therapy knowledge is beneficial
Personal Qualities & Physical Demands
* Ability to gown and work in clean rooms areas
* This is a shift position, working on site in Sacramento, CA, Monday through Friday from 6am to 2:30pm for first shift, Monday through Thursday from 1pm to 11:30pm for swing shift, and Monday through Thursday from 8pm to 6:30am for graveyard shift.

$21 - $29 an hour
The anticipated pay range for this job is based on prior experience in the role/industry, education, location, internal equity, and other job-related factors as permitted by law, including shift differential pay, if applicable. As a Pallet Repair Technician, you'll get to assist our customers with their damaged pallets. You'll return them to service-ready condition before consolidating and shipping them back to the customer. Your success is vital to the overall relationship with our customer!
What You'll Do
Accurately complete production paperwork to track progress
Utilize appropriate tools and methods to return damaged pallets to service-ready condition
Communicate directly with Shift Lead or On-Site Manager regularly
Examine products after repairing to verify conformance to quality standards
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Efficiently work without constant supervision to achieve production quotas in the repair area safely
Hand stack pallets to appropriate heights
Load and unload materials from trailers by hand
Move pallets, or materials on pallets or in crates, to the appropriate staging area
Check loads to make sure they are secure
Coordinate trailer moves within yard management system
What You Need
Demonstrated, experience safely operating air-driven, electric, and manual woodworking tools
High school degree or GED required
Excellent oral and written communication skills needed
Ability to work overtime when needed
