The Line Cook/Dishwasher position is a hybrid role responsible for ensuring that our galley is maintained in a pristine and safe manner, along with the involvement in all aspects of food production including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You will be responsible for acting as a Line Cook and Dishwasher, with 50 percent of your time allocated to each position's responsibilities. Responsibilities: Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the galley including cutlery, glassware, dishes, cookware, and surrounding areas. Assist with off-loading food deliveries, which require lifting boxes that weigh up to 50 lbs, and proper storage of deliveries on the vessel. Ensure that the commercial dishwasher is operating properly and efficiently, reporting any maintenance issues to management. Creating genuine relationships with our guests and catering to all galley requests in an efficient manner. Work directly with the Executive Chef/Sous Chef to produce diversified meals for our guests based on the fresh ingredients. Organize your workload in the galley so that galley processes run efficiently. Produce high-quality dishes that follow the established standard menu choices and recipes. Adhere to all the guests' dietary requests. Maintain order and discipline in the galley during work hours. Overview The Line Cook is responsible for preparing foods to be served to guests throughout the venue. The Line Cook will often have direct contact with the public working in areas such as a buffet line slicing meats or preparing dishes to order. The Line Cook must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need. This role will pay an hourly wage of $15.50 to $18.00. Benefits for PT roles: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching. EVERGREEN ROLE: Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; there is no application deadline. Responsibilities Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies. Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces. Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage. Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift. Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs. Qualifications Previous cook or prep cook experience Able to operate standard kitchen equipment to including the broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer and chef knife. Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment. Ability to speak, read and write in English. Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment. Possess valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations ServSafe preferred One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook Serve Safe Certification Experience with various cooking methods and procedures Familiar with industry best practices Strengthened by our Differences.
