Schedule: Full time - Sunday 8am-2pm, Monday through Saturday 11am-7pm, days will vary
What will you do in this role:
* Prepares/cooks hot and cold foods according to production plans and standardized recipes
* Displays and serves hot and cold foods in an appropriate and attractive manner
* Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures
* Stores and disposes of food according to policies and procedures
* Assists in maintaining food storage and work areas in a clean, sanitary, and orderly manner at all times
* Interacts with residents, families, staff, and other visitors to the community in a pleasant, respectful, and courteous manner
* Help put away Food Deliveries in an efficient and timely manner
* Work at different food stations as assigned
You have:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Minimum 1 year in institutional or restaurant cooking and/or baking
* The ability to operate various food service equipment
You might also have:
* Culinary arts training
* Knowledge of infection and exposure control and adheres to safe food handling procedures
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
* The ability to stand & walk the duration of your shift
* Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs. unassisted
* The ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs. of resistance
* Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed
* May be exposed to unpleasant odors, contagious diseases and blood borne pathogens

The cook for the dinner program, food truck, admin lunch, and Innovation Catering prepares hot / cold items by following specified recipes for approved menus and daily production sheets in accordance with Volunteers of America Colorado standards and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Prepares & preps items needed for the evening meal dinner program Wednesday & Thursday evenings, Food Truck lunch meal Tuesday & Thursday, Admin Lunch Tuesday - Thursday, and any Innovation Catering orders or special Volunteers of America Colorado Special Agency Events.
* Drives the food truck to sites and delivery of evening meal dinner program meals.
* Assists in MOW main kitchen as time allows. Working with the MOW program manager for specific tasks.
* Uses acquired culinary skills to produce high quality products, ensuring excellent taste, appearance, texture and client acceptability.
* Portions meals according to meal day, type and quantity. Minimizing waste and leftover items.
* Using menu plans, requisitions product and supplies in advance to ensure accuracy and efficient workflow.
* Maintains a safe clean work area and follows sanitation checklists and policies.
* Uses and maintains kitchen equipment in a clean, safe and appropriate manner.
* Chills, labels, and properly stores any unused product or leftovers.
* Maintains inventory / storage in an organized and rotating product properly.
* Attends all meetings and Agency trainings as required.
