This position works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. The PCT performs and assists with individual activities of daily living as well as certain treatments for patient care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse according to established policies, procedures and guidelines.
Responsibilities

What you'll do:
We are seeking an exceptional Program Associate to support Generation Colombia's job training and placement programs. You will be responsible for managing program logistics and operations. The Retail Pharmacy Technician is an entry level position. Following a training period of approximately 3-4 weeks, the Technician should be able to decipher and enter orders on the computer, charge, fill orders, answer phones and doors, file, and stock the department. Delivery of emergency room prescriptions to patients as part of the meds to beds programs. Requires professional judgment and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
(25%) * Fill and prepares prescriptions for final verification by pharmacist. Gather insurance information and work with doctor's offices, nurses, and case workers to coordinate medication needs. This includes coordinating and filling: specialty medications while adhering to accreditation standards and requirements, prescriptions for those on employee insurance, prescriptions for Meds to Beds patients and any other prescriptions received by the pharmacy.
(25%) * Enter prescriptions into the computer in an accurate and timely manner from in-person, fax, electronic, and telephone sources.
(25%) * Pull medications, order medications, and restock the department. This will require conducting frequent and accurate inventory counts and making purchasing decisions on medications based upon par levels and anticipated future needs. Purchase medications utilizing the appropriate software programs and methods. Knowledge and understanding of 340b is required and all policies and procedures regarding 340b will be followed at all times. Ensure that all supplies (labels, bottles, etc.) are adequately stocked to meet patient needs.
(10%) * Gather, review, and interpret information from the electronic medical record (EMR) and from other disciplines (nursing, case management, etc.) to determine patient eligibility for enrollment in the Meds?to?Beds program and enroll them. Once enrolled, technician will ensure ongoing eligibility in addition to gathering insurance information and correct routing of discharge prescriptions to the correct pharmacy. Coordinate discharge medication needs with case management, social work, floor nurses, and at times, physicians.
(10%) * Deliver completed and pharmacist checked prescriptions to the patients bedsides, to eligible patients by mail and to patients at pickup. Collect prescription co-payment via the cash register and point-of-sale software.
(5%) Maintain prescription and OTC area including but not limited to ordering, stocking, outdates, and maintaining cleanliness.
