Seeking PRN Occupational Health Nurse to join our team in Burnsville, MN. About the role:
This role provides PTO and Leave coverage. PRN as needed.
4- 5 weeks per year.
Must have availability to cover day shifts as needed, Monday through Friday. Our clinic is open 7:00am-5:00pm.
Strong nursing experience is preferred, Occupational Health experience not required we can provide training if there is a strong interest on Occupational Health!
Essential Functions:
Assure compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations.
Provide or manage the required physical evaluation programs and services to meet regulatory requirement; such as OSHA, Department of Transportation, CDC, etc.
Uses nursing skills to evaluate patient care needs, prioritize treatment, and maintain patient flow.
Evaluate and treat all injuries and illnesses in an efficient and professional manner within the scope of practice and consistent with clinical nursing guidelines.
Collaborates with Physician or other Licensed Independent Practitioner to arrange for further medical treatment, when needed.
Collaborate with outside resources for program development, such as healthcare providers, third-party administrators, legal advisors, medical director, regulatory agencies, etc.
Performs occupational and health screening tests as defined in site contract (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision).
Conducts appropriate laboratory tests and quality control procedures.
Administer the company's Drug-Free Workplace Program.
Assist with the accident investigation program to identify root cause analysis of all incidents and near misses.
Assess healthcare needs, then implement and manage healthcare programs to improve health and facilitate return to work, maintain OSHA records/reports and worker medical files.
Assist departments with identifying, evaluating, and implementing accommodations and return to work options for workers with restricted duty.
Collaborate with Environmental Health and Safety, Operations, and Human Resources to develop operations, programs, and services by providing content expertise.
Contribute in the design of controls for injury prevention and health surveillance related to actual and potential hazards in the work environment.
Identify primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention and health promotion strategies to optimize health of the population.
Documents accurately all elements of nursing assessment, treatments, medications administered, discharge instructions provided, and follow up care arranged.
Identifies emergency situations and provides care within legal scope of practice.
Administers medications and medical treatments competently as directed by a Physician or Licensed Independent Practitioner.
Maintains medical records using (In some health centers it may be using Electronic Medical Record software).
Identifies equipment that needs repair and brings it to the attention of the lead clinician.
Maintains a clean and safe environment. Follows infection control procedures.
Maintains patient privacy and confidential patient information.
Participates in follow up phone calls and follow up patient visits.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associate degree (A.S.) is required. Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred.
Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required
Current hands on training in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services.
Certification in Occupational Health Nursing, Certification in Emergency Nursing, or Certificate in Case Management preferred.

Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct in relation to information that is confidential in nature. Share information only when the recipient's right to access is clearly established and the sharing of such information is dearly in the best interests of the patient.
Appropriately communicate to ensure adherence to professional standards in the provision of and availability of supplies, materials and equipment needed to safely and effectively implement the plan of care.
Prepare, submit and maintain documentation as required by the Company and/or facility. Visit/shift notes documented on day services are rendered.

Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program or accredited School of Vocational Nursing.
Current nursing license in the practicing state.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
• Medium to Very Heavy. Responsible for client care needs which may require transfers and lifting of clients. Nursing care provided in individual client homes. Must be adaptable to a variety of environments and community settings. Must be able to drive or use public transportation in all types of weather.
• Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for heavy work.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Currently licensed as an L.P.N. in the state of Minnesota. The license must not have been revoked, suspended, and without limitations or restrictions.
• Have at least one (1) year experience in a health care setting. Acute hospital or home care experience preferred.
• Demonstrates ability to make appropriate nursing judgements.
• Strong interpersonal communication and teaching skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proof of negative mantoux or documentation of negative chest x-ray.
• Current CPR certification highly recommended.
• Access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation in order to travel to multiple company business stops a day.
• A valid driver's license and proof of car insurance when using a personal vehicle for company business.
• Have U.S. Citizenship or evidence of valid Alien Work Permit.
• Disclose any conviction and criminal history records pertaining to any crime related to the provision of health services. A candidate who has been convicted of a crime will not be hired.
• Pass initial and ongoing background studies and screenings including but not limited to those of the Minnesota Department of Health and the Federal Office of the Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals and Entities.

Description:
The LPN is responsible for providing tenants with the highest quality of direct routine care, under the supervision of the RN or AL Clinical Manager and in accordance with the Service Plan, Minnesota BON standards, the Tenant's Bill of Rights and the campus Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. The LPN participates in the development and modification of the tenant Plan of Care, implementing interventions that are delegated, ordered, or prescribed by the RN or physician. The LPN collects tenant health data and compares to normal findings and the established current health status, reporting changes and/or responses to interventions in an ongoing manner to the RN. The LPN assigns and monitors nursing tasks or activities of unlicensed nursing staff through, assessment of their knowledge, skill, and capabilities, clarifying expectations, addressing behaviors, or escalating. All nursing activities are performed to support tenants in achieving and maintaining the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
Qualifications:
Completion of a professional nursing education program approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing Current Minnesota License as a Practical Nurse
Current Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and emergency care
