The Information Assistant provides research and reference assistance to library users with an emphasis on support for Microforms and Government Information. Regularly neatens tables, carrels, and public seating areas to provide an inviting atmosphere for customers.
Assists in Circulation including issuing library cards and staffing drive up window as needed.
Assists other departments in providing customer services as required.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
Lifts arms above shoulder level; bends, reaches above and below waist on a continuous basis.
Climbs a short stepladder.
Lifts crates of books weighing up to 50 pounds and pushes a fully loaded book cart weighing up to 300 pounds.
Bends and stoops to lift books, pushes book drop bin over rough uneven terrain, maneuvers carts and bins through doorways and up ramps.
Works evening and weekend hours on a regular basis. Must be able to work a varied schedule.

Please submit a brief cover letter, stating why you want to work in the Science Library, your intended/declared academic major, and commitments other than your class schedule that limit your availability (co-op duties, ensemble practice, athletics, student organizations, etc.). Only candidates who complete all parts of the application will be considered for an interview. Candidates selected for interview may be given tests of relevant skills (ie. handwriting, proofreading, or sorting). Review of applications will be on a rolling basis until April 20th.

Library Aide Job In Cincinnati, OH
Federal Work Study, Student Worker - Library Student Assistant Student Assistants mainly perform circulation functions: checking items in/out, renewing items, answer phone calls etc. Other duties include: answering directional questions, instructing students how to print or access blackboard, save items to flash drives, shelve books, and maintain the stacks (book stacks). This is primarily a customer service position that also requires basic technology literacy. Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System is encouraged but not required. Must be able to work an opening, closing or weekend shift. The position is a temporary, semester by semester assignment, and is contingent upon maintaining current enrollment and Federal Work Study eligibility.
Essential Duties:
* Circulate laptops, books, media items and reserves
* Provide guidance for patrons on accessing Cincinnati State online resources (MyServices, Blackboard, etc.)
* Answer basic questions pertaining to Microsoft office software, printing and copying materials
* Assist students with basic computer issues
* Answer the phone and transfer calls as needed
* Shelve books
* Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
"The hiring of student workers by Cincinnati State is premised on eligibility guidelines for federal work study employment: eligible applicants must be high school graduates or have attained a GED. Additionally, eligible applicants for work study positions at Cincinnati State must be at least 16 years of age on or before the date of hire."
* Must have completed a FAFSA for the current school year.

* Must demonstrate financial need.
* Familiarity with Microsoft office software
