We are looking for a dedicated OR Liaison like you to be a part of our team. **Job Summary and Qualifications** This position supports the mission of Swedish Medical Center of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:** + Provides asset management and support of surgical instruments and trays belonging to or consigned to the facility, in accordance with The Department of Health, TJC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI and AORN standards. + Properly handles, decontaminates, assembles, sterilizesand returns for use all instrumentation in accordance with the above organizational standards. + Works with Clinical Coordinators to maintain preference cards and learn multiple specialty instrumentation. + Point of contact for OR staff forin roomassistance and instrumentation needs. + Accurate and timely reporting of shift details to incoming shift staff and Lead Technician. + Performs inventory replacement procedures, transports instrumentation to OR as needed. + Supports daily operations of any activities that pertain to the processing of reusable instrumentation. + Communicates with SPD staff and OR staff to ascertain that pre-case needs are met, resolve any outstanding issues and offer alternatives if necessary. + Reporting of broken instrumentation, and vital communication with team leadership and/or manager. + Demonstrates consistent success in working, communicating with, and mentoring diverse staff. + Communicates in a professional manner to all staff and facility employees. + Demonstrates extensive knowledge of instrumentation in multiple specialty areas. + Completes documentation for inventory and equipment service requests. + Regularlymeets with OR staff and surgeons to ensure needs are being met and prioritized. + Verifies availability of instrumentation for next day cases and weekend cases. + Other duties as assigned. 1. **Position Requirements** 1. **Licensure/Certification/Registration:** Central Sterile Technician or Surgical Technician certification required. **Education:** Associate Degree or equivalent from 2 year technical school, or 2 years related experience, or combination of both. 1. **Experience:** At least 2 years of previous SPD experience, or similar clinical experience required. 1. **Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:** Basic to advanced knowledge in the role of instrumentation as well as decontamination and sterilization of instruments. Demonstrates good organizational skills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.
