The purpose of this role is to support the annual business plan of reducing cost and reducing downtime through the provision of effective leadership for the stores and janitors work team. This includes supervision of the direction of daily activities, as well as an ongoing analysis of the stores inventory items and the receiving function to optimize stock levels, reduce inventory and remove of obsolete items. This position coordinates and resolves any discrepancies involving inbound receipts and/or outbound shipments.
Responsibilities Include:
Actively participate in maintaining a zero incident safety culture.

Provide effective leadership, supervisor, and development of hourly store room employees and janitors.
Provide analytical support in determining slow moving/obsolete inventory, max/min levels, and develop an annual program for review of all inventory items.
Coordinate the physical removal and disposition of obsolete or excess items.
Maintain a system of inspection for incoming material and outbound shipments.
Compile and post month end numbers on the monthly report.
Provide effective communication channels between all employees and vendors with contact to stores.
Ensure complete communication and understanding of work activities to Stores, Receiving, and Janitor work groups, and assign work to those groups.
Provide appropriate resources to aid work group in maximum achievement of work activities.
Ensure all transactions involving receiving, storage, issuing, shipping, and record keeping in accordance with Commonwealth Policies and Procedures.
Provide support as needed for workload management and vacation relief in the Stores administrative area.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma / GED required
At least 5+ years related work experience with leadership responsibility, preferably in a union environment
Experience working in manufacturing environment
Computer skills needed, preferably with experience in Oracle, Artist IMA and the Windows/Microsoft environment
Organizational skills and excellent interpersonal skills
Is technically competent and capable of backfilling team members
Has the ability to understand how activities impact cash conversion, EBITDA and other key financial metrics
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety policies and procedures, HR Policies, standard work documents, maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, charts etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous warehouse experience desired.
