About the Role
The Field Operations Lead will manage, oversee, and maintain M2X's autonomous biofuel production assets. M2X is commercializing a new technology; the team is engineering and manufacturing a modular, mobile biofuel plant. This role will work closely with the Engineering Team, Manufacturing Team, and the Executive Team to ensure proper operations and maintenance of field facilities and operations. The role will also build a Field Operations Team as M2X deploys a fleet of biofuel production assets, primarily at landfills. A strong candidate will be able to maintain, repair, and service mechanical and electrical systems, and have experience with managing facility and plant operations. The position ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations while developing internal safety policies that reflect commitment to protecting employee health and safety. The candidate should be well organized, and demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills. Specific responsibilities may include:
Monitor and manage day-to-day operations of autonomous, modular biofuel plants
Support field testing of modular plant in collaboration with Engineering team
Collaborate with other teams to implement process improvements
Manage equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs
Analyze operating data via remote monitoring software
Supervise and train plant operators and technicians
Maintain company tools, equipment, and property
Manage and oversee subcontractors, vendors and service providers
Manage time, budget, and materials for field deployment projects
Respond to and manage any plant emergencies or operational issues
Conduct hazard assessments across production facilities to identify and mitigate risks
Oversee and audit compliance with safety and environmental regulations
Maintain safe storage of chemicals, safety supplies and PPE
Support manufacturing team with first article testing (FAT) and performance testing
Report field operations information to Executive Team
Qualifications
Associate or bachelor's degree, applied technical training and/or certifications
2+ years of experience in field operations work
Proven experience managing field equipment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety on the job
Experience with Microsoft Office and products (e.g., Excel, Teams, Word, etc.)
Familiarity with budgeting and budget tracking
Experience tracking and maintain company property/equipment
Mechanical experience and ability to work with power tools and heavy equipment
Knowledge of codes, standards, and building and facility rules and regulations
Experience with managing staff, subcontractors, and for-hire services
Knowledge of safety standards and regulations and enforcement of safe practices
Understand regulatory requirements, interface with regulatory agencies and safety experts, and manage compliance
