Assist specialty transport personnel.
Provide patient care and interventions in the hospital and Emergency Department consistent with the scope of practice, responding to medical emergencies and Rapid Response requests for inpatient issues.

Recommend additions, improvements, and revisions in standards of care.
Participate in equipment inventory and ordering, uniform inventory, and the planning of education activities.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred.
Current certification as a Paramedic (PM) in the State of Iowa with Critical Care Endorsement.
Minimum of 3 years of recent, full-time experience functioning as a critical care paramedic providing direct patient care.
Demonstrated proficiency with advanced airways, ventilators, and other medical equipment.
Experience in the care and transport of pediatric patients.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certification, or certification obtained within three (3) months of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required prior to employment with Mercy Ambulance and must maintain current certification.
