Lead Cytotechnologist - Cytology Lab - (240005JY) Description The Lead Cytotechnologist will independently perform all levels of high complexity testing. The lead cytotechnologist works effectively with physician members of staff to accurately provide diagnostic results and works with minimal supervision. This role is responsible for the evaluation and diagnosis of non-GYN cases for pathology review, independent evaluation and diagnosis of GYN cases. Performs Rapid On-Site evaluations for FNA procedures including EBUS and EUS procedures, Robotic assisted Endoscopic procedures, CT guided and US Guided procedures. Exercises independent judgment in recognizing and solving test related problems. Leads or performs technical job duties as specified in CAP Regulations. Acts as a resource to staff for resolution of more technically difficult problems with tests or equipment and assists with customer problems. Ensures remedial actions are taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications. Personnel Requirements for Tests of Moderate and High Complexity - Testing. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Qualifications
Education: Baccalaureate degree in Biology, Medical technology, or closely related field with one (1) year of training in an accredited cytotechnology program.
Baccalaureate degree in Cytotechnology.
Must meet and maintain the qualifications for personnel performing high complexity testing as outlined in CLIA 88 regulations.
Must have current Florida Licensure in Cytotechnology, ASCP preferred. Must possess a current license as a State of Florida clinical laboratory supervisor or be qualified to obtain within six (6) months.
Experience: Five (5) years' experience in a cytology laboratory as a cytotechnologist.

Program and Job Description: The Public Health Laboratory (PHL) seeks one qualified candidate to serve as a supervisor in the Environmental Sciences section. Overall Purpose of the Job
To supervise the day to day running of the laboratory ensuring that all activities are completed on schedule and according to written test procedures, in full accordance with Company policy and procedure. The position requires the work to be performed in the lab with little remote work opportunity. This role requires someone who is skilled in operating an ICP-OES, IC and general water chemistry techniques. Experience with PVT and GC are not necessary but would be beneficial. Key Activities and Accountabilities

About the Role:
Reporting to the Head Compounding Pharmacist, the Compounding Lab Manager will be responsible for daily operations within the compounding labs in the pharmacy. You will support the scale-up of growing compounding capabilities, as well as acting as a stakeholder in the development of new compounded treatments. You will strive to maximize quality and patient safety while dispensing medication in accordance with federal and state pharmacy regulations.
You Will:
* Directly manage all patient-specific non-sterile compounding and responsible for patient-specific non-sterile compounding activities.
* Direct supervision of the compounding technicians and lab assistants
* Train all new compounding technicians on equipment and processes used in the lab
* Ability to be immersed in the daily operation of a pharmacy
* Master all the equipment in the lab, and work with suppliers as necessary to optimize equipment output
* Work with QA team to ensure quality of compounds and safety of employees in the compounding lab
* Organize, track and maintain all documentation pertinent to the compounding labs. Environmental controls, scale calibrations and hood certifications are included
* Identify all applicable regulatory agencies and laws for compliance
* Plans, organizes, and directs the development of compounding initiatives
* Ensure every critical check is accomplished every day for every single compound
* Staff the non-sterile laboratories as needed with the highest level of competency
* Creates project plans for the rollout and execution of new compounding initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary duties are digital scanning of analog archival materials according to archival imaging standards, the transport and handling of that material according to archival best practices, and the creation of descriptive metadata and supporting documentary records. As well as photographing archival material in a studio setting, and data entry.
Other miscellaneous and related duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Digitization Lab Supervisor or the Collections Manager. This position reports directly to the Digitization Lab Supervisor.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Digital photography experience (including operating manual settings on DSLR cameras), basic understanding of controlling external light for photography, and basic editing in Adobe Photoshop.
Other requirements:
Ability to work independently.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, performing them in a relatively short period of time.
Ability to communicate effectively both in oral and written format.
Computer, software, and writing skills commensurate with the creation of college level class assignments.
Physically capable of moving and lifting up to 50lbs.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced computer skills relating to digital scanning hardware and software.
Proficient use of professional camera equipment, lighting, and Adobe Photoshop.
Familiarity with metadata standards, particularly Dublin Core.
Knowledge of archives theory and practice.
Familiarity with Excel.
Interest in western history, photography, and audio-visual (AV) would be beneficial in this position.
Familiarity with analog photography is also preferred

Job Responsibilities
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
Assist with processing of specimens when needed
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
Minimum 4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required
Certified by the National Credentialing Agency (NCA) in Cytogenetics (CLSp-CG) is a plus
ASCP or AMT certification is preferred
Florida Cytogenetics Technologist license required
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus
High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
