The attorney attends the Commissions' meetings, advises them on a wide range of legal issues, and represents them in civil and administrative proceedings, including officer decertification cases and state and federal civil litigation against the Commissions. This position also bears primary responsibility for representing the Alcoholic Beverage Commission, including in civil and administrative litigation in state and federal court. Although criminal prosecution is not the primary focus of this position, this attorney may also handle some trial level criminal cases and will certainly handle criminal cases on appeal through the brief rotation.
