JOB SUMMARY: This position's primary duties will include providing on-site mentoring to early childhood facilities such as, but not limited to, providing direct assistance to help early childhood facilities establish developmentally appropriate learning environments; providing guidance for lesson planning and assisting child care providers improve his or her abilities and skills through observation; conducting assessments and modeling. Additional duties include: guiding, advising and supporting the child care facility in attaining and maintaining Texas Rising Star (TRS) certification and to assist facilities move towards a 4 (four) Star or National Accreditation status by providing on-going support through professional development and modeling developmentally appropriate practices. Responsible for providing effective assessments for current Texas Rising Star providers and potential providers interested in the Texas Rising Star program. Responsible with the coordination and implementation of all TRS related activities associated with the Child Care Services (CCS) Program. Duties will include assisting the Child Care Services Program Manager with the child care program to include quality initiatives. Meets regularly with and provides child care resources, including developmentally appropriate books, materials, and equipment, to TRS-certified providers. May serve as an assessor of child care providers during the TRS certification process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as the liaison between employers and the SERCO-operated Workforce Career Centers and adheres to the SERCO mission.
A dual-role staff member is defined as an individual meeting the definitions of a mentor and assessor.
Conducts assessments and monitors providers that obtain, maintain, and achieve higher levels of quality.
Assists providers obtain, maintain, or achieve higher star levels of certification.
Complete annual professional development and continuing education consistent with the CCR Texas Rising Star annual minimum training hours requirement for a Texas Rising Star-certified child care program director.
Staff members are mandated reporters when observing serious incidents, as described in the Texas Rising Star guidelines.
Provide mentoring and/or technical assistance to Entry-Level Child-Care Providers and Texas Rising Star providers.
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
Must be able to use problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional levels.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Must be able to travel within service area and outside the area for staff development or training.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, child psychology, educational psychology, elementary education, or family consumer science
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with at least 18 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, child psychology, educational psychology, elementary education, or family consumer science with at least 12 credit hours in child development
Associate's degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, child psychology, educational psychology, elementary education, or family consumer science, and two years of suitable experience in early childhood education as determined by the Board.
Minimum work experience requirements of one year of full-time early childhood classroom experience in a child care, Early Head Start, Head Start, or prekindergarten through third-grade school program.

Proficiency in the use of computer reporting and database programs.

All employees are lineworkers. As a lineworker you will be assigned to one of four areas based
on the needs of the business: Production Duty, Front End Duty, Sales Floor Duty or Loading
we are hiring for is assigned to Production Duty.
The Production Lineworker position will help process donated merchandise in the production
room to be sold on the retail sales floor. This position will be trained to perform various jobs
assigned to the production department. Some of the duties will include cleaning the sales floor,
sorting merchandise, hanging merchandise, and stocking merchandise to replenish the sales floor.
This position will also perform other miscellaneous duties as needed by their manager during their
scheduled shift.
Our business model requires employees to be cross-trained in different areas of work so the daily
labor demands can be met. The multi-tasking aspect of the lineworker position is necessary and
will require employees to shift their job duties on any given day to meet the daily business
demands.
All employees MUST be flexible and ready to work wherever needed by the manager and/or
supervisor. All employees are expected to perform at or above the company's minimum
performance standards for each job they are trained to do.
This is a full-time position (40+ hours weekly) in a retail thrift store plus benefits after 90 days.
The typical production schedule is Monday through Friday 7:30AM - 4:00PM with Saturday and Sunday off.
Some overtime may be required based on the needs of the business during the week and/or on Saturday.
