The Lawn Care Worker/Groundskeeper will be responsible for completing the following job duties at Twin Valley:
Empty/clean trash and garbage containers outside and around the site campus.
Empty and clean ash trays and cigarette urns
Provide cleaning for all outside areas.
Provide landscaping services, including mowing, trimming, and edging.
Keep all sidewalks clear of debris, leaves, branches, snow and ice.
Interact with fellow employees, state employees and customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
Remove snow with shovels and/or snow blowers.
Remove snow in all outdoor walkways, sidewalks, stairways, doorways and steps.
Carry bags of salt from store room to needed location and or load on vehicles.
Spread salt in all outdoor walkways, sidewalks, stairways, doorways and steps.
Hours may vary based on the timing and volume of snow. Call in are possible should a large snow event occur
Qualifications
One year of custodial or lawn care experience preferred but not required.
Must have a valid Drivers License with less than six points
A clean criminal background check
Must be able to regularly lift 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

All related landscaping needs.
Repair of district owned mowers, landscape equipment.
Repair of outdoor structures including bleachers, signs, and playground equipment.
Field renovations.
Respond to customer's needs.
Essential Functions:
Evidence of formal training and/or equivalent experience in landscaping including mowing, aerating, seeding, irrigation systems, trimming, mulching, and pruning.
Operate different types of mowing equipment.
Athletic fields including layout and striping.
Repair of small engines.
Safely operate powered hand tools.
General knowledge of maintenance and repair of buildings and related systems and equipment.
Detailed knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Rakes and maintains flower beds.
Prepares the grounds daily as necessary. Includes picking up all visible trash from the front entrance and around the entire property/grounds.
Ensures all grounds accessories are neat and positioned correctly.
Maintains proper fluid level in each piece of equipment used on a daily basis; reports all improperly functioning equipment to a supervisor or the equipment technician.
Returns all equipment to the properly designated areas after is has been properly cleaned.
Cleans in and around the grounds daily.

As a Groundskeeper you are required to have:
Must have 6 months experience in a maintenance setting to include electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, painting, light and heavy equipment operation.

Prepares and follows a scheduled preventive maintenance procedure to ensure safe and efficient operation of all plumbing service and to ensure compliance with all code requirements.
Perform plumbing repair and installation; operates and/or utilizes hand and power tools (e.g., wrenches, pipe threads, sewer machine, drill, torch, electric hammer, etc.) to unclog toilets, sinks, and sewer lines; installs water, steam, and gas lines according to specifications and plumbing codes; cuts, welds, and threads pipe; replaces valves, traps, thermostats, etc.; cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings; inspects pipes for leaks.
Care and maintenance of all equipment, including but not limited to equipment used for mowing, trimming, snow removal and vehicles used for the transport of tools.
Care and maintenance of exterior asphalt, concrete and hard surfaces throughout the district, including power washing and repair.
Removal of snow and ice from district grounds and apply salt as needed
Maintain records in paper and electronic format.
Comply with all Federal, State and Local laws and regulations for the storage, use and disposal of trash, rubbish waste and hazardous materials and for the maintenance, repair and operation of equipment and machines.
Operates hand tools, power tools, and ladders to maintain and repair district facilities (e.g., basic carpentry, painting, and mechanical tasks, etc.); assists with major repair installation, and remodeling projects; moves furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipment.
