    Job Details Entry Zanesville - Zanesville, OH Part Time None None AnyDescription Provide direct supervision to children in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes youth development and member engagement in accordance with the YMCA core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following, other duties may be assigned: Plan, lead and participate in a range of activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA core values. This includes all classes, practices, games and game area is prepared and cleaned as needed. Thinks, communicates and behaves as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members when it comes to desired staff behaviors; promotes youth development, healthy living and social responsibility in all job-related functions. Answers questions from participants and parents to support them in achieving their goals related to youth development. Maintains working knowledge of sports/activity, and trends to provide effective information and support to participants. Builds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents, helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers. Maintain accurate, complete and timely program records including but not limited to sports, programs, schedules and assists participants and parents as needed. This includes officiating as needed. Adhere to program standards including, but not limited to safety and cleanliness. Follow all applicable policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies. Maintain positive relations with parents and other staff. Model relationship-building skills in all interactions. Assist in supervision of volunteers involved in sport or activity. Child Protection Responsibilities: Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth. Participates in all required management training. Adheres to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising youth. Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma/GED; some college preferred. Previous demonstrated experience working with children and diverse populations. Experience in one or more of the following areas: outdoor living, camping, music, skits, sports, aquatics, and/or recreational games. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, Communicable Disease and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire.
