The Landscape Laborer's responsibilities include soil and ground preparation, planting, pruning, mowing, and watering, as well as maintaining tools and equipment. Candidates with a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a keen interest in landscaping and horticulture are preferred. A passion for outdoor work, good physical condition, and the ability to work in various weather conditions as work well as part of a team. Responsibilities and Duties Landscape Laborers perform a variety of tasks related to landscape design, site preparation, and maintenance. They work under the guidance of a landscape foreman and are responsible for the physical labor involved in the project. Assist in the construction of landscape features such as walkways, patios, and retaining walls Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and tools. Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure they are in good working order Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required for daily work tasks Perform physical labor tasks such as digging, planting, raking, and mulching Operate manual and power tools to plant trees, shrubs, and flowers Follow plans provided by landscape architects and designers Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE Communicate effectively with team members Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the work site before leaving May drive trucks or other vehicles to or at work sites. Essential Functions May perform all or some of the following: The Groundskeeper performs routine maintenance of Idaho Falls Power and Idaho Falls Fiber grounds, including mowing, trimming, weed control, and seasonal landscaping tasks. This includes preventative maintenance on outdoor facilities and irrigation systems. The position also involves minor facility repairs such as plumbing, painting, light carpentry, and concrete repair. Additionally, the Groundskeeper prepares grounds for various projects and special events, ensuring they remain clean and hazard-free. This role requires operating and maintaining landscaping equipment, including hand mowers, weed trimmers, chain saws, riding mowers, and snow blowers.
