The Grounds Worker performs a variety of duties involved in the maintenance and upkeep of building grounds, including playgrounds, athletic fields, or other grounds. The temporary wastewater grounds maintenance worker will perform unskilled to semi-skilled work in a variety of fields in the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds, buildings, fields and related facilities. The employee cuts grass, maintains fields, loads and unloads dirt, gravel, trash and other debris including the collection and disposal of refuse at the treatment plant. Duties also include operating vehicles and equipment in either a specific or a variety of maintenance, construction and/or utility tasks. This position works under the direction of the Grounds Maintenance Foreman or full-time groundskeepers and is assigned general labor tasks, such as mowing, trimming, trash pickup, tree and shrub removal, and landscape improvements. Perform any and all duties as assigned or necessary. Assignments are made daily to balance the work load among crews as required. Seasonal grounds workers may be eligible for temporary positions in the custodial services department after completion of seasonal duties. Permanent full time positions may be hired from the pool of temporary workers who have demonstrated satisfactory performance and good attendance. Primary Job Responsibilities Primary responsibilities of the Groundskeeper are to ensure the grounds and common areas of the property are clean at all times. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: Curb Appeal- * Pick up trash and debris in common area, pool, and recreation areas. * Sweep curbs * Pick up pet waste around property * Assist Maintenance with various tasks * Clean pools when applicable * Report any defiances to manager or maintenance * Wear required uniform and maintain an appropriate appearance. * Comply with all local/state laws and follow the company's policies and procedures. * Adhere to all safety procedures/guidelines including compliance with OSHA/Fair Housing requirements * May be needed to help with on-call needs * Continued training, as assigned * Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Practical experience required: at least three months as groundskeeper. Must speak and write English well enough to understand directions. Salary: $22 - $23/hr.
