The Opportunity: We are seeking highly motivated and skilled laborers for manufacturing operations multiple shifts at our West Chicago, IL location: SECOND SHIFT 3:00-11:00 with a 25 minute paid lunch THIRD SHIFT 11:00-7:00 with a 25 minute paid lunch Starting pay $18.17 per hour, depending on the work being performed after "Qualified status" pay can raise up to $21.08 with a $1.50 shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Essential Functions: Operator must meet the minimum production and quality requirements of each job title they perform. Assemble boxes and package product. Relieve Mold Press Operators for breaks and lunches. Wear PPE as required; metatarsal safety shoes, leather operator gloves, protective glasses with side shields, ear plugs. Laborers gloves are optional. Housekeeping and PM requirements per assigned job title. Complete all production paperwork accurately, timely and in English as required. In the absence of the shift supervisor, regarding issues of safety, quality, or productivity, instructions will be provided by the lab tech. Operate Floor Sweeper. Physical Requirements: Must be able to tolerate conditions of elevated temperature, dust, and draft. Must stand throughout shift with continuous movement and be able to climb a ladder to 15 feet above the shop floor. Must be able to tolerate lifting of up to 50 LBS. Is responsible for the general housekeeping and sanitation around the production line. Supply packing Greenstock to the packing rework table. Transport tanks of Greenstock to center packers and center cutters. Control flow of cucumbers to spear packers. Empty garbage off grade totes and transport to the accurate area. Clean up and set-up of lines for different products. Net pickles to line as needed. * Greenstock Cooler: Dump tote bins, boxes and/or tanks into Osaka tanks supplying the grading area. Remove Greenstock tickets from bins/boxes. Hand dump (open, dump, aside) wire bound containers of bags of Greenstock and tote bins and feeding the washers. Supervise the conveyor system to accurately control the amount of Greenstock in the soaker tank and encourage the washers. Remove skids and cardboard (wooded totes) from the dumper. Performs the general sanitation required to keep the work area clean. Maintain sanitary conditions with use of hairnets, smocks, and aprons. Supply totes, boxes and or tanks to the washing systems when the lift driver is not available. Tops the ice bins, boxes of cucumbers. Record, collect and analyze data. Perform grit test. Performs labor duties when required. Responsible for accurate rotation of Greenstock by code date. Perform additional miscellaneous duties as advised by the supervisor. * Additional Tasks: Operate electric walkie truck. Perform any additional duties assigned by the respective supervisor. Collect, record, and analyze data (tags all off grade and waste materials with accurate identification stickers). Recycle raw material, cardboard, plastic, caps, etc. Perform all tasks in a safe manner. Cut cardboard +boxes with utility knife. Expected Experience & Required Skills: * Must pass certified training course to use electric hand jack. One-month training to accurately learn all jobs. Work Environment & Schedule: This position is considered a Manufacturing plant environment with heavy machinery and equipment. Overtime and weekend work required as dictated by business needs. You may be required to switch schedule or shifts as the need arises. Must wear following PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): bump cap/hard hat, safety glasses, slip resistant shoes, ear plugs. Physical Requirements: Physical demands include but not limited to: * Frequent standing and walking required. * Must lift or stack 75 lb. * Must occasionally dump 53-72 ob containers of pickles. Heavy exertion is required when stacking on CPD or FSD line. * Pushing 900-1550 lb. tank on wheels. Education and Experience: * Be able to read and write.
