This person will work closely with Winemakers to create the wines for our award-winning Hess Collection, Allomi and Select programs, as well as maintain analysis on the complete inventory of wines stored at our American Canyon location.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow established Hess Collection laboratory methods and protocols.
Monthly screening of all wines in inventory for analytical, microbiological, and organoleptic soundness.
Post-process analysis following racking, transfers, blending, filtration, additions, bottling, etc.
Crush analysis, grape samples, incoming grape analysis, and fermentation monitoring.
Manage barrel topping analysis, generate and process topping work orders.
Bottling quality control, checks and documentation.
Under guidance of winemaking, communicate all additions including yeast and nutrients to fermenters.
Malolactic fermentation inoculation and monitoring.
Microbiological / QA evaluation and monitoring of bottled product.
Timely set up of fining trials for blends and bottling.
Suggest, conduct, analyze, and report trials.
Attend classes, seminars, meetings, and other venues offering new knowledge and report back to team.
Analytical data entry into Innovint, with occasional work order generation/processing.
Maintain OSHA safety standards within Lab area; support cellar team in safety projects as needed.
Perform state-of-the-art sanitation monitoring.
HACCP/SQF plan participation, and adherence to FDA guidelines.
Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Job Summary
The Harvest Laboratory Technician is responsible for the timely and accurate analysis of grapes, must, and wine for the multiple brands under the C. Mondavi and Family Company. The analyst validates and reviews data for accuracy, and enters laboratory data into the LIMS that ultimately generates required reports to clients. Schedules sample workload according to due dates and sample hold times, and must be knowledgeable of the job-specific laboratory testing equipment, requiring the exercise of discretion and judgment in its operation.
Mold/Asbestos Analyst responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following
:
Prepare and analyze aerobiological and environmental samples for asbestos and fungi.
Accurately enters and reports analytical data using the LIMS
Performs independent data reviews for other analysts' work
Performs analysis of reference materials, proficiency samples and other quality control samples as needed
Maintains client service and provides technical support as needed
Assists the QA manager in development, implementation and data collection of QA processes for the different analytical tests
Performs confirmation of lab results as needed by client services personnel
Performs and completes all analytical testing and Quality Assurance related tasks as needed
Assists in pursuing, receiving and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditations

Compensation:
