Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the installation of refrigeration systems following customer specifications, applicable building codes, and proper piping practices.
Provide support on construction job by piping cooler boxes and refrigeration cases, including electrical wiring as required to complete the project.
Provides the required installation of pipe hangers as directed by the foreman.
Provide construction support by welding and slip-hosing copper pipes, and assist the foreman as needed on the job.
Provide support by handing cooler box coils and installing new supermarket refrigeration systems or remodeling existing supermarket refrigeration systems.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent work experience and trade or technical school classes
5+ years of experience in the construction industry preferred and hands-on field experience in commercial refrigeration, electrical and/or fixtures construction
EPA Certification (Type II)
Experience in copper brazing, market remodeling
Good driving record.
Knowledge of electrical systems and ability to wire installations.

Position Summary:
The Pipefitter is responsible for fabrication, assembly, installation and maintenance of piping, piping systems and piping supports, as well as the equipment for industrial piping systems based on knowledge of system operation and study of building plans or working drawings. All work is conducted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and in alignment with company goals and strategies.
Essential Job Functions:
Assembles component layout by applying knowledge of geometry, physical metal properties and weld shrinkage
Performs basic mathematical calculations pertaining to the craft such as rolling offsets, cutback of fittings, and takeout between welds and other fits
Select type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications
Plan the sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers
Prep material for welding by cutting or grinding using porta-band, pipe cutters, hammer, and chisel, cutting torch, and/or grinder
Thread pipe using threading machine
Secure pipes to structure with bolt up, clamps, brackets, tack welding and hangars using hand tools and machines
Test piping system for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks

Reads and understands plans, isometrics, arrangement drawings, details, specifications, erection manuals and/or blueprints and make decisions based on measurable criteria
Visualizes objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings
Work within precise limits and ASNI and ASME standards of accuracy

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Incumbent performs a variety of plumbing trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of domestic plumbing pipe, pipe fittings and fixtures, and water drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing code. Keeps supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered and identify and reports safety, environmental and other work requirements for resolution.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals such as iron, steel, copper and lead and nonmetals such as glass, vitrified clay and plastic by using power and hand tools.
Cuts openings in walls, floors, or ceilings to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters, replaces burst pipes. Opens clogged drains.
Utilizes building plans and working drawings and interprets technical manuals, shop directives. blueprints, sketches, diagrams, specifications, and verbal and written instructions.
Responsible for completing logs documenting inspections. maintenance and repair information, to include work performed and materials used and fills-out daily labor sheets on each assigned work order.
Installs, repairs, maintains, and tests backflow preventors.
Uses manometers to test/verify gas pressures.
Install, test, repair, and maintains water softeners.
Adheres to proper security practices, foreign object damage procedures and airfield driving regulations, as applicable.
Interfaces with customers and responsible for customer feedback, as applicable.
Operates motor vehicles in accordance with company vehicle policies.
Complies with applicable federal, state, United States Air Force (USAF) and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) environmental laws and regulations. Complies with health and safety rules and procedures; performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.

Must be able to obtain backflow tester's certification.
Minimum two (2) years' plumbing experience at the journeyman level.
Must obtain and maintain all necessary licenses/IDs/certifications.
Ability to solve problems and work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to adapt to changes In technology and applicable facility/infrastructure codes and standards.
Familiarity with facility/infrastructure codes and standards, as applicable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk for long periods at a time, sit, use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to hear and speak. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
