The Position:
We are looking to fill a 2nd shift press helper position.
Responsibilities include:
Assist with roller clean-up.
Mount plates when needed.
Pull and lay out tooling for production order.
Support operator and/or press set-up personnel with set-up and tear-down.
Work with operator to achieve productivity and quality goals.
Monitors in feed material.
Monitors ink levels.
Monitors waste wind.
Operates in accordance with the manufacturer specifications and guidelines.
Reads and is familiar with all documented procedures within the area of responsibility.
Must work well with others in a team environment.
Recording of time and production for job costing.
Performs all required preventative maintenance in accordance to production schedule.
Maintains a clean and organized work area and press.
Observe company work rules and safety regulations.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Shift hours are:
2:30pm-10:30pm (2nd shift)

Requirements
As a Press Assistant, your job is to measure, set, and maintain various materials for the printing equipment.
Responsibilities:
Need to be able to operate a log stacker and a compensating stacker that builds neat logs and skids to ensure good running ability in the bindery.
Must inspect product quality during the press run for (squareness of fold, page numbers, lap, marking of product from press or stacker, and overall print quality)
Must know how to setup and operate local and remote piece weight scales.
Knowledge of general maintenance and proper cleaning of strappers and log stackers.
Needs to be able to give good accurate product count at end of each press run.
Must place skid tag on each finished skid and place skid in proper location.
After each run is completed, the off-bearer will setup his stacker equipment to the proper specifications for the next job and assist the press crew with setup and make-ready of press.
General cleaning -- make sure press area is always kept clean -- floor swept, trash cans and boxes empty, press wiped down.
Knowledge and Skills:
Able to work any shift to meet customer demands.
Able to work overtime as required.
Effective communication skills.
Great attendance.
Possess a good mechanical aptitude and intermediate math skills.
Able to use hand tools to setup and adjust equipment.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Experienced in using rulers, calipers, and other measuring devices.
Physically capable of lifting to 60# occasionally.
Knowledge of how to read machine blueprints and parts lists.
Physically capable of bending, kneeling, standing/walking on cement floors for long periods of time.
Preferred Education:
H.S. diploma or equivalent

The ideal candidate will be energetic, proficient and exhibit strong communication skills with a knowledge of offset printing. Works in the Pressroom performing maintenance and operating the press in a timely, safe and proficient manner. There is a strong emphasis on producing a quality product with the least amount of waste possible.
Requirements
What You Will Do
Spots (position) plates on the press and plates up the press units assigned correctly.
Inspect rolls of paper for damage and prepares paster patterns on all sizes of rolls correctly.
Assist with webbing the press from the reel level to the folder correctly.
Remove and install press blankets on the impression cylinders correctly.
Change and adjust ink and water rollers to correct settings.
Perform general press cleanup by emptying and scraping pans and the general cleaning the press as directed.
Perform preventative lubrication maintenance on the presses as assigned. Responsible for reporting any mechanical/electrical malfunctions or safety related issues promptly to the pressroom supervisor on duty.
Create and maintain a clean and safe work environment including properly disposing of rags and loose paper and wiping up ink or oil spilled on or around the press.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two years' experience on web offset press.
Ability to work with a crew.
Must possess the ability to convey and receive communication and direction from and to supervisors and coworkers.
Ability to manually push rolls to the unit reel, with assistance of a roll dolly.
Ability to climb press stairs, attached to the press up to 60 feet high.
Ability to work on steel, concrete and vinyl floors.
Ability to work around high levels of noise.
Ability to bend, squat and twist to perform job function.
Ability to lift over the head with both arms.
Ability to lift down 80 lb. rubber roller with assistance.
