Define the roles and responsibilities of the Housekeeper within a long-term care facility. The purpose is to maintain a safe, orderly and clean environment free of obstacles and odors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day including lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains and floors. Maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms. Maintain handrails to ensure they are clean and free of debris. Clean and remove dust, dirt or food off walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures. towel bars, towel dispensers. Empty trash cans and replace liners. Sweep and mop floors. Utilize proper safety measures when cleaning, including the use of caution signage and keeping supplies and chemicals out of reach of the residents. Notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing immediately regarding resident safety issues or concerns.
