Job Description

Janitor

Shift: 4 PM-12 AM/Monday-Friday. No weekends!

Pay: $16.20 per hour + additional $2.00 per hour for shift differential = $18.20 per hour. PAID WEEKLY!

Major Responsibilities:

  • Sweeps, mops, and polishes floors. May be required to operate a power scrubber to clean
    floors. Vacuums carpets in common areas and offices.
  • Removes and disposes trash from all areas. Breaks down and bundles carton boxes for
    recycling; places boxes in bailer machine for consolidation.
  • Cleans common areas, including tables, chairs, countertops, drinking fountains, doors,
    windows (inside and outside), refrigerators, microwaves, sinks, and eye wash stations. Uses
    cleansers and machinery in a safe manner according to manufacturers' specifications.
  • Cleans and provides supplies for restrooms.
  • Removes snow and ice from sidewalks, entrance areas, and dock doors as
    needed. Spreads de-icing salt as appropriate; maintains log.
  • Understands and demonstrates Essendants' Core Values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • Ability to perform all required tasks in the function according to established safety rules
    and guidelines.
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Ability to perform all tasks in a safe manner, following all safety rules and guidelines.
  • Ability to understand simple directions (verbal and written) in English.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Janitorial/custodial experience preferred
