Requirements

Position is a full-time internship.
Work on and/or around energized equipment (up to 260 volts).
Assist in disassembling and reassembling, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing of station transformers, circuit breakers, portable substations, rotating machinery, regulators and capacitors, install and maintain station batteries; replace nitrogen bottles and air filters.
Assist in station work such as installing conduit, pipe, cable and wire; use hand lines to pass tools and materials; dig and backfill trenches; remove and spread stone; uncrate equipment and material; install and remove portable substation fences, barriers and safety signs; paint structures and equipment; use ladders properly and safely.
Use various kinds of tapes, insulating materials, protective and insulating paints and varnishes, and understand proper application of each.
Select proper prints and/or drawings for various works and have a basic understanding of each.
Use voltmeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, insulation meggers and other test equipment associated with station work.
Assist in station switching including use of radio communication and/or direct instruction from higher classification, assist in checking equipment clearances and making de-energized tests, place grounds as directed.
Assist in making visual inspections such as check lights, heaters, circuit breaker counters, oil levels, and bus connections; read gauges such as voltmeters, ammeters, hydrometers, pressure and level gauges; apply start-run-stop tests on emergency generators, water and sump pumps. Report abnormal conditions.
Assist in various tests involving oil samples, connecting and operating portable and stationary oil handling equipment. Assist in electrical tests, sucha s TTR, power factor, megger and resistance testing, etc.
Attend and participate in training.
Perform duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules and operating regulations and practices.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must be high school graduate or have equivalent education and/or experience.
Must be enrolled in a qualified two-year associate degree program in electrical/mechanical/industrial maintenance technology. One year toward completion of the two year program is preferred. Must be at least 18 years old.
Must successfully complete all pre-employment selection procedures including drug screen, physical and back ground check.
Must be physically able and willing to perform work in a field environment. Must successfully complete the Station Electrician Physical Abilities Test (PAT). Must possess good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work in teams.
Must be able to work in accordance with established safety policies and procedures. Must be able to follow both written and verbal instruction. Must be able to provide both written and verbal instruction to others when necessary.
Must be able to interpret data and apply information from drawings, instruction manuals, diagrams, and associated documents. Must be able to deal with customers and other employees in a courteous and professional manner.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver?s license and be capable of obtaining a CDL (commercial driver?s license). Must be willing to travel. (Travel may be required to complete work assignments.)

Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules, regulations, compliance procedures and practices, and report unsafe conditions and practices.
2. Splice and repair all types of energized secondary cables (lead and poly) and de-energized primary cables (all types of insulation including PILC), and be proficient in the installation of primary transition and trifurcating splices.
3. Perform underground primary and secondary voltage cable terminations on the most complex electrical equipment including installation, removal, inspection and maintenance of primary riser terminators, elbows, secondary moles/crabs, and other termination hardware.
4. Perform trip checking and switching of network circuits and take, hold and release clearance and hold orders as required.
5. Troubleshoot network protectors and perform repairs as required.
6. Install and replace underground cable type current limiting devices, fuses and other in-line protective devices.
7. Operate fault locating equipment used to locate faults on failed primary network feeders, secondary and service cables.
8. Install transformers (network, single and three-phase pad mounts), network protectors and other associated equipment as required.
9. Direct crew when assigned and exercise leadership and good judgement when in charge.
10. Attend and participate in training as assigned and assist in the training of other employees.
11. Prepare, conduct and facilitate safety meetings.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma/GED
Experience:
1. Shall have performed the duties of and have all the qualifications of Network Mechanic B (minimum of 2 years) or the equivalent and shall qualify through demonstration, examination and/or performance appraisal as determined by the Company.
2. Must have a good working knowledge of various circuit connections, voltage identification of lines, phasing, transformer connections and switching devices. Must know the fundamentals of electricity and have the ability to interpret field prints and switching diagrams.
3. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license. Valid Class A CDL required.
4. Must have the ability to deal with employees, customers and the general public in a courteous and proper manner.
5. Must possess the ability to plan work and to properly instruct others.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules, regulations, compliance procedures and practices, and report unsafe conditions and practices.
2. Splice and repair all types of energized secondary cables (lead and poly) and de-energized primary cables (all types of insulation including PILC), and be proficient in the installation of primary transition and trifurcating splices.
3. Perform underground primary and secondary voltage cable terminations on the most complex electrical equipment including installation, removal, inspection and maintenance of primary riser terminators, elbows, secondary moles/crabs, and other termination hardware.
4. Perform trip checking and switching of network circuits and take, hold and release clearance and hold orders as required.
5. Troubleshoot network protectors and perform repairs as required.
6. Install and replace underground cable type current limiting devices, fuses and other in-line protective devices.
7. Operate fault locating equipment used to locate faults on failed primary network feeders, secondary and service cables.
8. Install transformers (network, single and three-phase pad mounts), network protectors and other associated equipment as required.
9. Direct crew when assigned and exercise leadership and good judgement when in charge.
10. Attend and participate in training as assigned and assist in the training of other employees.
11. Prepare, conduct and facilitate safety meetings.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:

The IRP process will produce and maintain actionable investment plans at a cadence that supports AEP's internal strategic planning process. This position is also responsible for the on-going coordination of the resource planning activities of the AEP operating companies that would result in the development and filing of regulatory/statutory required integrated resource plans: providing leadership and strategic direction associated with our engagement in state and federal regulatory processes explaining, justifying and advocating for our portfolio of generation investments.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Develop a generation investment plan that supports the long-term growth strategy of the company while providing reliable, cost-effective electric service to AEP's customers.
Oversee the development of an Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) as a comprehensive strategic decision support tool that will drive infrastructure investment decisions for AEP's operating companies.
Direct the development of an IRP framework that will bring together policy considerations, the decentralized and decarbonized nature of new generation technology, transmission and distribution infrastructure needs and portfolio risk analyses.
Direct the development and maintenance of actionable investment plans at a cadence that supports AEP's internal strategic planning process.
Direct the long-term Integrated Resource Planning modeling activities of the affiliate AEP operating companies residing in both the AEP-Eastern (PJM) and AEP-Western (SPP) regions.
Oversee the maintenance of information necessary for Capability, Load/Demand and Reserve analyses to determine resource needs for both the AEP-Eastern and Western operating companies/regions.
Monitor developments within Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs' PJM & SPP) that could impact resource planning activities.
Direct the development of periodic region-specific integrated resource plans to meet regulatory/statutory filing requirements.
Serves as a company witness before state public utility commission, FERC technical conferences and FERC dockets etc.
Assemble and present/deliver periodic IRP and other regulatory filing process updates to internal management, as required.
Working with other technical organizations, keep abreast of emerging supply-side technologies, their attendant costs and performance parameters, for purpose of considering in IRP processes going-forward.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelors in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Economics or related field.
Experience:
10 years of experience is to include 5 years of direct involvement in resource planning-related actives with commensurate regulatory-related background.
5 years management/leadership experience. MBA preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Position is a full-time internship.
Work on and/or around energized equipment (up to 260 volts).
Assist in disassembling and reassembling, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing of station transformers, circuit breakers, portable substations, rotating machinery, regulators and capacitors, install and maintain station batteries; replace nitrogen bottles and air filters.
Assist in station work such as installing conduit, pipe, cable and wire; use hand lines to pass tools and materials; dig and backfill trenches; remove and spread stone; uncrate equipment and material; install and remove portable substation fences, barriers and safety signs; paint structures and equipment; use ladders properly and safely.
Use various kinds of tapes, insulating materials, protective and insulating paints and varnishes, and understand proper application of each.
Select proper prints and/or drawings for various works and have a basic understanding of each.
Use voltmeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, insulation meggers and other test equipment associated with station work.
Assist in station switching including use of radio communication and/or direct instruction from higher classification, assist in checking equipment clearances and making de-energized tests, place grounds as directed.
Assist in making visual inspections such as check lights, heaters, circuit breaker counters, oil levels, and bus connections; read gauges such as voltmeters, ammeters, hydrometers, pressure and level gauges; apply start-run-stop tests on emergency generators, water and sump pumps. Report abnormal conditions.
Assist in various tests involving oil samples, connecting and operating portable and stationary oil handling equipment. Assist in electrical tests, sucha s TTR, power factor, megger and resistance testing, etc.
Attend and participate in training.
Perform duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules and operating regulations and practices.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must be high school graduate or have equivalent education and/or experience.
Must be enrolled in a qualified two-year associate degree program in electrical/mechanical/industrial maintenance technology. One year toward completion of the two year program is preferred. Must be at least 18 years old.
Must successfully complete all pre-employment selection procedures including drug screen, physical and back ground check.
Must be physically able and willing to perform work in a field environment. Must successfully complete the Station Electrician Physical Abilities Test (PAT). Must possess good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work in teams.
Must be able to work in accordance with established safety policies and procedures. Must be able to follow both written and verbal instruction. Must be able to provide both written and verbal instruction to others when necessary.
Must be able to interpret data and apply information from drawings, instruction manuals, diagrams, and associated documents. Must be able to deal with customers and other employees in a courteous and professional manner.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver?s license and be capable of obtaining a CDL (commercial driver?s license). Must be willing to travel. (Travel may be required to complete work assignments.)
Must have working knowledge of computers and computer software applications. Basic knowledge of electricity, preferred.
