Circulates throughout institution observing employees' performance. Conducts performance evaluations. Schedules and/or coordinates training programs for subordinates. Conducts continuous training of subordinate staff in security procedures and performance. Takes and recommends non-appealable disciplinary action and recommends appealable disciplinary action to higher level management.
Supervises and coordinates body cavity searches as authorized by the Warden. Authorizes non-emergency applications of use of force. Supervises inmates commensurate with the level of risk they present. Manages inmate housing areas, enforces rules and sanitation standards. Transports inmates using approved restraints and observing relevant laws, policies and procedures. Conducts accurate head counts, maintains custody and control over inmates at appointments outside the secured perimeter and escorts inmates within the secured perimeter. Inventories personal property and issues receipts.
Performs crisis intervention functions to include but not limited to subduing violent or uncooperative inmates, defending persons against attack, or preventing escapes, using approved deadly or non-deadly force, restraints or other approved methods. Maintains facility security. This includes performing contraband searches of either male or female inmates and other persons (both clothed and unclothed). This will include the visual inspection of body cavities and possible exposure to body fluids.
Observes inmate behavior to identify inmates exhibiting mental or emotional disorders, using counseling techniques or referral action as outlined in written policies or guidelines.
Provides emergency assistance during emergencies, disasters and accidents to include but not limited to CPR, first aid, apprehension of escaping or escaped inmates, implementation of evacuation procedures, security of inmates and/or areas in accordance with the emergency situation
Conducts inspections and visual and audio surveillance of persons, property, vehicles, building and outdoor areas. Physically checks doors, windows, gates, barred sections, fences and other areas to ensure proper security. Must have good observational skills.
Maintains proper inventory records. Issues and receives property and equipment.

Your Job Georgia-Pacific Cedar Springs, GA. is looking for Journeyman Level Industrial Electrician. These are highly skilled hourly positions requiring experience troubleshooting E&I systems. The facility has approximately 500 employees with three paper machines that make different weights of brown paper and containerboard paper. What You Will Do
Work with operators, mechanics, engineers, and other team members to improve reliability and performance of mill equipment.
Perform electrical maintenance in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy heavy industrial environment around chemicals, high speed equipment, confined spaces, and high elevations.
Troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, install, and maintain electrical/mechanical equipment.
Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participating in the safety program.
Help facility meet or exceed production, waste, and quality goals.
Participate in a preventative maintenance program to ensure machinery uptime.
Work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Journeyman certification from an accredited school, Union program or Company OR a minimum of three (3) years of industrial or military electrical experience
Experience working with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives)
Experience working with computers for record-keeping and documentation functions
Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) and working with medium and high voltage switchgear
Experience working with AC/DC motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Experience reading electrical schematics including single line diagrams and ladder logic
Experience with calibration, loop checking, and maintenance and repair of instrument and pneumatic equipment
What Will Put You Ahead
Paper mill experience
Experience with ABB and/or Allen Bradley drives or HVAC systems
Experience with Honeywell controls and/or DCS (Distributed Control Systems)
Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Graduate of journeyman training program, trade school or technical military training
