What we need in this role: * Spend approximately 35% of your time in prospecting activities to self-source a significant portion of your own Pipeline. The ideal candidate brings sediment engineering consulting and project management experience to provide technical leadership, program management, and cutting-edge technical approaches to support and grow ERM's sediment SI/RM practice. Our sediment practice covers all aspects of the contaminated site lifecycle: site investigation, risk assessment, feasibility study, remedial design, remedy implementation, and performance monitoring. State of the art digital tools and data analytics are used throughout the lifecycle. As a leader, you will be consulting on and managing sediment site investigation and remediation related projects and project teams to support and build ERM's Sediment SI/RM practice regionally and across the US, while also networking with ERM's global SI/RM technical team to share best practices across the industry. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Manage sediment site investigation and remediation projects with multi-person project teams. Responsibilities in Nashville include writing project proposals, test plans, and test reports and contributing to the upkeep of the equipment warehouse. The successful candidate will also be able to network with ERM's national air quality technical team to share consulting opportunities, business relationships, and the application of best practices to address client needs.     ERM is seeking a hands-on Senior Consultant, Air Quality Stack Testing to be based out of our Nashville, Tennessee office. This is a full-time salaried position. As part of a field team, you will conduct air monitoring and emissions measurement activities, equipment calibrations and maintenance, as well as collect, organize, and manage field data for air quality compliance and emissions assessment programs. Projects will be located throughout the Eastern US, North America, and possible international locations in support of ERM's regional and national air quality practice. The ideal candidate will participate in high-demand field programs, supporting the rigors of travel and work away from the home office (anticipated to average 40% of your time). Responsibilities in Nashville include writing project proposals, test plans, and test reports and contributing to the upkeep of the equipment warehouse. The Nashville work schedule allows flexible hours and some work-from-home opportunities. The successful candidate will also be able to network with ERM's national air quality technical team to share consulting opportunities, business relationships, and the application of best practices to address client needs. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Execute multiple simultaneous projects within. scope/budget/schedule/quality expectations, working both in the field and at the home office. * Travel to project sites throughout the Eastern U.S., typically 40% of your schedule, for periods of 1 to 3 weeks at a time. * Create cost estimates and proposals. * Work with other ERM staff in the proper planning and execution of air quality projects, and in directing or conducting independent technical reviews of deliverable work products (calculations, reports, plans and guidance documents, explanatory presentations, etc.). * Contribute to inventory, upkeep, and cleanliness of the ERM vehicles, warehouse, tools, and equipment. * Contact labs, contractors, and other vendors and make purchasing decisions to acquire needed goods and services to support our operation. * Maintain good understanding of USEPA Reference Methods for standard pollutant testing (particulates and gases) and air regulations. * Transport company equipment to project sites with ERM-owned vehicles and trailers. * Prepare and operate field equipment at project sites. * Maintain and calibrate equipment onsite and at local warehouse, following USEPA requirements. * Work with clients' engineering staff to execute site-specific project scopes and properly collect client-provided testing data. * Prepare air emissions samples for laboratory analysis. * Ensure the safety of oneself and one's team members during project operations with SAFETY FIRST. * Develop into a leadership role, quickly take on more responsibility supervising field teams and subcontractors and being the first point of contact for clients onsite. REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor's or Associate's degree in chemistry, science, or engineering. * 3-10 yrs of direct consulting or industry experience. * Existing air quality measurement experience, with project management and field team leadership responsibilities. * Knowledge of NSPS and NESHAP rules and experience reading air permits. * Good mechanical skills and general knowledge/understanding of electrical components such as pumps, heaters, and power generators. * Good knowledge of electronic instruments and data acquisition systems. * Good knowledge of industrial/construction/laboratory safety practices. * Physically able to lift equipment (~50 lbs) and climb ladders/platforms. * Able to work at heights which may surpass 200ft. * Ability to safely handle chemicals and compressed gases. * Ability to drive a ~40ft/20,000lb truck and trailer combination vehicle. * Good driving record and ability to obtain DOT medical card for interstate driving/transport. * Computer skills, including good understanding of Excel spreadsheets. * Excellent communication (written/verbal), attention to detail, strategic thinking within a team environment, and ability to work unsupervised. * Local candidates preferred.
