This internship position is hiring for full-time work on-site with NREL's Polymer Science and Engineering group starting in May or June of 2025. JOB SUMMARY: Assess and provide interventions to ensure student success and promote an exemplary education program that fosters achievement for all students. The Employment-Based Internship is an opportunity to serve as a paraprofessional in a special education program (with moderate/severe needs students) while also gaining the skills and experience necessary to meet the core competencies for a School Social Worker.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:**
+ Work tasks will be a combination of office work and onsite at active project sites.

Specific duties will include assisting senior team members in the preparation of samples for instrumental analysis, performing analyses using various analytical techniques such as liquid chromatography, near-infrared spectroscopy, and elemental analysis while also maintaining analytical instrumentation and laboratory efficiency.
The position will also require adherence to NREL's high technical, environmental, and health and safety standards.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team performing chemical analyses on samples derived from a wide variety of laboratory experiments producing biofuels and biomaterials including fermentation, heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis, and polymer deconstruction.

Basic QualificationsMust be enrolled as a full-time student in a degree granting program, or graduated in the past 12 months from an accredited institution. Internship period cannot exceed 12 months past graduation. Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
