We are expanding our opportunities for Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) Internships! We have internships available for students working towards their masters degree in a behavioral health field. CCS is interested in helping students to obtain the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to further their educational goals. Our internships are for educational purposes and there is no guarantee or expectation that the activity will result in employment with Columbia Care Services. The experience received through the internship is for the express benefit of the intern. The QMHP intern does not replace or displace a ColumbiaCare employee. The Intern will receive close and direct supervision by a clinical manager with appropriate credentials.
Our goal is to help interns to meet their program requirements while providing them an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our recovery focused communities. Our communities serve individuals with mental health needs. Many of our residents have been diagnosed with serious mental health conditions. QMHP interns have the opportunity to gain skills providing direct mental health services, which include conducting comprehensive assessments, developing treatment plans, and facilitating individual and group therapy, among others.
What Youll Need
Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) Intern MUST:
Be currently enrolled in a graduate program for a masters degree in psychology, social work or in a behavioral science field;
Have a collaborative educational agreement with the CMHP, or another provider, and the graduate program;
Work within the scope of their practice and competencies identified by the policies and procedures for credentialing of clinical staff as established by provider;
Receive, at minimum, weekly supervision by a qualified clinical manager employed by the provider of services.
Successful applicants must have the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.

ABC House is looking for a Family Advocate Intern to join our Assessment team. This internship is in-person and will last for the duration of your university's internship program. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and is enrolled in an undergraduate program in a field related to social work. Our internship program provides an opportunity for students to gain experience working with children and families through a trauma lens and a direct application of advocacy services. The goal of advocacy services is to minimize trauma from the assessment process on both the child and family and help ensure that their service needs are met. In addition, the intern will work with a team of professionals including child abuse medical providers, forensic interviewers, advocates, Oregon Department of Human Services, and law enforcement.
Principal duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide on-site family support and referral services for clients and their family members

Brief Description of Placements: The Lifeways Community Mental Health Internship Program is affiliated with multiple colleges and University's and includes placements opportunities in several different programs. Through these placement experiences, interns become competent in the areas of clinical intervention, diagnostic assessment, professional development, cultural issues, and professional ethics and standards. The primary objective of the program is to prepare interns to become entry-level clinicians.
Interns offer clinical services at and through several different programs within Lifeways. Interns are assigned to department/sites based on their interests, training and educational needs, and abilities. In addition to providing direct clinical service, interns receive individual, group, and peer supervision and participate in Multi-disciplinary Team meetings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned)
Generalist 1st Year Student/Interns: Depending on learning plan, these individuals will work with/and learn programs such as:
Peer Supports/Peer Center (Provide Day Treatment/Groups etc. & Community outreach)
Outpatient Mental Health (Adult & Children's Team): provide Case Management, resources, and skills development.
Connect clients with community resources i.e., housing, food stamps, insurance, social security.
Advocate for benefits on behalf of client.
Provide a variety of life skills training to clientele.
Work collaboratively with treatment team
Advanced 2nd Year Student/Interns: Depending on learning plan, these individuals will work with/and learn programs such as:
Crisis Team/Intensive Outpatient (ACT, EASA, IIBHT).
A&D Team (Substance Use Disorder Team) including residential Lifeways Recovery Center.
Outpatient Mental Health (Adult & Children Team): Provide direct client care including psychotherapy and counseling.
Provide diagnostic assessments with DSM V diagnoses, develop treatment plans, make referrals, provide individual, couple, family, and group counseling.
Provide crisis intervention, counseling, evaluations, and related services.
Provide individualized case management to clients.
Make appropriate referrals.
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team structure to expand clinical competency, staff cases, and ensure thorough client care.
Expand clinical competency via trainings and literature both as assigned and approved by supervisor(s)

We have internships available for students working towards their masters degree in a behavioral health field. CCS is interested in helping students to obtain the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to further their educational goals. Our internships are for educational purposes and there is no guarantee or expectation that the activity will result in employment with Columbia Care Services. The experience received through the internship is for the express benefit of the intern. The QMHP intern does not replace or displace a ColumbiaCare employee. The Intern will receive close and direct supervision by a clinical manager with appropriate credentials.
Our goal is to help interns to meet their program requirements while providing them an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our recovery focused communities. Our communities serve individuals with mental health needs. Many of our residents have been diagnosed with serious mental health conditions. QMHP interns have the opportunity to gain skills providing direct mental health services, which include conducting comprehensive assessments, developing treatment plans, and facilitating individual and group therapy, among others.
What Youll Need
Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) Intern MUST:
Be currently enrolled in a graduate program for a masters degree in psychology, social work or in a behavioral science field;
Have a collaborative educational agreement with the CMHP, or another provider, and the graduate program;
Work within the scope of their practice and competencies identified by the policies and procedures for credentialing of clinical staff as established by provider;
Receive, at minimum, weekly supervision by a qualified clinical manager employed by the provider of services.
Successful applicants must have the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.
