The EHS Intern will provide assistance and gain expertise by working to support the EHS function within HSM. Internship Details:
Charlotte Country Club is a private 18 hole facility dating back to 1910. An original Donald Ross design was restored in 2007-2008, located 4 miles east of uptown Charlotte. Our internship program offers students hands on experience in every facet of golf course management ranging from equipment operation, application of fertilizers and pesticides, and daily golf course setup. In addition to the experience gained on the course, our Golf Course Superintendent provides weekly educational meetings covering topics such as professionalism, marketability, calibration, nutrition requirements and timing, soil testing, irrigation, budgeting, and compound and fertilizer programs. Over the past few years, we have completed construction projects on holes 6,7,14, and 15. These projects included: tree removal, bunker construction with Better Billy Bunker drainage, 24” culvert pipe installation, and cart path removal. The Club is currently working with Golf Course Architect Andrew Green and a full course restoration/renovation that will reconstruct all bunkers on the course, replace the irrigation system, and install hydronics on all putting surfaces.
Internship Requirements
