This internship will help you gain valuable understanding about the impact of human trafficking and the service systems available to increase client safety. You will work with the team to facilitate a consistent continuum of care for the youth being served in the program based on individual needs assessment and with a victim-centered and survivor-led approach. This internship will prepare you with real social work experience and include direct client work and allow you to shadow other positions in the program. Intern tasks may include: Crisis intervention, safety planning, and resource connection using brief solution-focused approaches Screening clients for Youth Trafficking Prevention services Assisting with outreach to new referrals to offer services Conducting new client intake meetings Planning and facilitating monthly Youth Workshops Becoming a part of the Youth Trafficking Prevention team Attending supervision and Youth Trafficking Prevention team meetings Students may also have time for self-driven research projects.
