Premier Community HealthCare is seeking a PRN Community Engagement Intern to join our team in New Port Richey and Dade City, Florida! Under direct supervision of an administrative leader, the Community Engagement intern will learn and assist with the day-to-day operations of Premier Community HealthCare Group (PCHG). Responsible for various tasks and projects as assigned. This is a temporary hands-on role that will give the intern valuable experience in a health care setting. Based on major and assignment, the intern may be involved with research, health programs, community relations, marketing & communications, business development, outreach, data entry, reporting and analysis and/ or process improvement projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Assist with the development and implementation of administrative or operational processes and procedures * Assignment of various projects and tasks to support the functional team assigned * Assisting with the maintenance of company records and documents * Helping to manage inventory and supplies * Participating in team meetings and presenting updates on assigned projects * Providing excellent customer service to patients and Care Team Members * Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times * Keep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupts timely patient flow through site * Contribute to community give back initiatives and be an advocate for Premier's mission * Adhere to patient care needs and the core values of Premier Community HealthCare to a provide best-in-class patient experience * Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * General understanding of a professional workplace and ability to remain professional and adhere to PCHG policies and procedures * Basic project management skills and process improvement methodologies * Research and writing skills * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * Networking and relationship skills * Ability to perform data entry, navigate systems and run reports * Ability to problem solve and critically think * Solid understanding of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint * Maintains a professional relationship and positive attitude with co-workers, patients, the entire organization, and the public * Maintains the highest professional work ethics * Displays enthusiasm toward the work, mission, and vision of the organization * Exceptional customer service skills and demonstration of empathy and compassion to a diverse patient population. * Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with multiple levels within the organization * Excellent grammar, spelling and interpersonal skills * Exhibits honesty and ethical conduct, maintaining confidentiality and upholding Premier Community HealthCare's values in all interactions Qualifications: * High School diploma or GED * Preferred to be enrolled in a college or university program related to human services, public health, social work, public affairs, marketing, communications, business administration and/or a similar field * Obtain and maintain annual compliance throughout employment Working conditions and physical requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an intern to successfully perform the essential functions of this assignment.
