Performs a variety of professional, technical, and administrative tasks in developing and administering high quality assessments and correlating resources, including Student Learning Objectives (SLOs). Interprets public school rules, laws, and policies regarding assessment. Trains school personnel in proper administration and creation of common assessments, analysis of data, and SLOs. Interprets changes to the District curriculum and Colorado standards, ensuring assessments, resources, and SLOs are aligned, and informs teachers and principals of the implications of these changes.

What You'll Do:
Assumes a lead role in a particular content area.
Develops assessment items to be used on District assessments and in the District item bank and develops model SLOs and learning progressions for content area assigned.
Collaborates with other departments in the management, development, and analysis of District-supported assessments and SLOs.
Utilizes the District's item banking system to modify and catalog items as needed.
Provides support and training in the use of various assessments, including semester and course assessments, common formative assessments, and item bank developed interim assessments; assists teachers and administrators with tools and resources to aid instruction.
Develops and provides training and staff development in the areas of assessment administration, ethical assessment practices, and the use of assessment information for instructional improvement.
Assists the Research Team in the development or modification of assessment reports; conducts analyses of assessment results; and supports schools in interpreting assessment results, linking results to curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Works with network staff to provide support and professional development to District schools in the areas of SLOs, assessment literacy, and the use of online systems to deliver assessments and assessment results electronically.
Collaborates with Curriculum and Instruction personnel on various projects and reports; prepares and conducts presentations for various groups; and responds to administration and school requests for information.
Monitors SLO submissions for content area assigned, determining quality of SLOs and collaborating with schools to create next steps to address SLOs that are not of high quality.
Contributes to the ongoing development and implementation of the SLO system, providing support, communication, and training for SLOs to school leaders and teachers.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field is required.
Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience.
Three (3) or more years of substantial knowledge of and experience working with Colorado Academic Standards and/or Common Core State Standards.
Three (3) or more years of experience in item development (constructed response, selected response and performance based tasks), assessment creation, rubric development, and item analysis.
Valid Colorado Driver's License, appropriate insurance coverage, and acceptable driving record for the past three years.
The ability to take responsibility for one's own performance.
Ability to understand and interpret assessment data.

The Residential Counselor at Youth Residential Recovery provides milieu management, psychoeducation groups and ensures safety of youth, (between 13 through 18.5 years of age), in a substance use residential and inpatient program.

Essential Duties:
* Provides milieu management, guidance, safety, stability, and direction to clients in early recovery from a trauma-informed lens.
* Maintains acceptable attendance and punctuality and is consistently at work on time.
* Interacts with client population to provide guidance, safety, stability, and direction including de-escalating potentially dangerous situations.
* Performs accurate and timely documentation at all times, including but not limited to admissions, shift notes, Per Diem notes, discharges, inventories and screening of clients' personal belongings, individual and group sessions, Medication Occurrences (MOR), and Adverse Incident Reports (AIR).
* Monitors and documents client's vital signs, physical condition and behavior, as needed. Must be able to administer blood pressure assessments, utilizing blood pressure cuffs, when Nurse is not available.
* Assists with the planning, conducting and supervision of patient activities, including community meetings, groups, external meetings on-site, family/friend visitation, recreational activities, and life skills.

One will follow a potential client from the time of referral to admission into the program including assessment for placement, submitting the ASAM assessment to Medicaid, coordinating additional services such as detox or Medication Assisted Treatment Services prior to a client's admission, contacting clients on the waitlist weekly to offer support and coordination of services, and completion of all intake documents.
This full-time University Staff (unclassified) position is part of a larger interdisciplinary team that provides substance use disorder counseling to clients enrolled in the program.
Note: This is an essential services position. The incumbent is required to respond after hours during emergencies and report to work for regular assigned shifts during emergency campus closures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assess clients for placement into a 3.5 or 3.1 level of residential care and assure transition into care.
* Complete ASAM Medicaid form/criteria to determine risk and level of care and submit prior authorizations (or within 24 hours of admission) to Utilization Manager to assure authorization. Assure proper documentation for Special Connections authorization.
* Conduct additional assessment of clients.
* Work with referring agents to assure proper placement of clients and a smooth transition into care.
* Assess mental health and detox needs and coordinate detox or MAT services as needed.
* Screen for priority populations and assure continued coordination with clients until admission into the program.
* Complete all intake documents per BHA standards and document in the electronic health record.
* Provide resources for people placed on the waitlist or who are not appropriate for our level of care.
* Provides program information to a wide range of individuals requesting information, including family members, potential clients, and other professional referral sources and presents the program thoroughly and completely so an individual has a clear understanding of what to expect while in treatment.
* Conducts tours and provides presentations with or for director as needed.
* Will attend staff meetings, training, and supervision as assigned.
* Will participate in clinical reviews and coordination of care as needed. May be called upon to assist in other clinical services as needed.

The CU Denver Student and Community Counseling Center (SCCC) provides mental health counseling services to CU Denver Students as well as community members and Denver Public Schools (DPS) students and their families. Fee-paying students receive counseling sessions at no cost. Community members are charged a nominal fee for services.
In addition, our center serves as a training center for counseling graduate students in the School of Education and Human Development (SEHD). Establish and maintain working relationships with community agencies for consultation, evaluation, therapy and other social services support for in-house programs and initiate inmate referrals to the community.
Additional Job Functions:
Provide in-service training to jail staff.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Inmate Services.

Required Qualifications
Education:
Master's degree in counseling, clinical psychology, or related field.
Required work experience:
One year of experience in counseling, specifically in the mental health field working with a variety of diagnoses, and facilitation of psychoeducational groups.
Certificates and Licenses:
LPC-Licensed Professional Counselor Must hold current license in Colorado as a Licensed Professional Counselor Required
LCSW- License Clinical Social Worker Licensed Clinical Social Worker Required
NCAC - National Certified Addictions Counselor Licensed Addictions Counselor or equivalent Required
Or hold a permit in Colorado as a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate or Clinical Social Worker Candidate or equivalent with eh ability to obtain a license within the first 2.5 years of employment. Required
Supervision hours are offered to assist in reaching licensure requirements. Required
The ability to speak and write a language other than English is a skill that enhances an employee's ability to complete this job (preferred but not required). The incidents that require the use of secondary language skill vary by day but are routinely frequent; it is expected that this skill will be used more than 11 times per month. The employee must be proficient in speaking and writing the second language to be eligible for the bilingual pay differential.

1. The display of body piercings (other than traditional earrings for females) are not authorized.

3. Tattoos, scarifications, and brandings on the hands, face, or front of neck are not authorized while on duty or representing the agency.
4. The Sheriff, or his designee, determines if tattoos are controversial, disrespectful or offensive.
This position is exempt from the minimum wage and overtime requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore ineligible for overtime pay.
