Description:You will be a Tool and Die Maker, at our Greenville, SC location. Our team is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of our tools, jigs and fixtures. What You Will Be Doing As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be responsible for using a range of materials, including metals, fiberglass, thermal plastics, and other fabrication materials, to create and maintain both soft and hard tooling for manufacturing processes.
The candidate will be required to:
* Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to understand tool specifications.
* Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate and repair parts of tools, jigs and fixtures.
* Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
* Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify jigs, gauges, and tools using machine tools and hand tools.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
* Collaborate effectively with colleagues and departments to achieve production goals and resolve issues efficiently.
* Ensure effective communication with supervisors/ Leaders and peers regarding project status, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
* Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time

Under direct oversight from the Utilities Technology Supervisor, the Instrumentation and Controls Apprentice performs a variety of skilled work, to include installing, maintaining and repairing the measuring and control devices used in industrial, commercial processes of the City's Water and Wastewater facilities.
Starting salary is $23.98/hour
Incremental increases based on hours worked and strict performance goals outlined within the Apprenticeship program:
* 1000 work hours - increase to $24.65/hour

Job Duties:
Possess detailed knowledge of all tool room machines and perform complete machine setups
Manufacture tools and fixtures for other manufacturing departments and parts for machine repair as required
Work closely with other tool makers in an effort to learn the methods and technical aspects of tool making for heading and threading operations and provide leadership to other team members
Accurately read blueprints and utilize micrometers, calipers, and tool room support gauging and equipment
Perform preventive maintenance on tool room equipment and maintain machine tools and equipment in a safe operating condition and is always mindful of potential safety hazards
Procure parts, equipment, and services from vendors and process necessary paperwork for purchasing of components
Maintain work area and machines in a clean and orderly fashion and dispose of waste material in and around work area
Assist engineering with new job development and bill of material updates
Assist operators with tooling problems, work with Tool Room Attendant and engineering to resolve problems, and continuous improvement projects
Perform tool inspection and layout to ensure that tools meet specifications
Follow all general safety rules, procedures, and regulations

Our team is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of our tools, jigs and fixtures\. **What You Will Be Doing** As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be responsible for using a range of materials, including metals, fiberglass, thermal plastics, and other fabrication materials, to create and maintain both soft and hard tooling for manufacturing processes\.
The candidate will be required to:
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to understand tool specifications\.

A manufacturing company is seeking a Tool Maker/Manual Machinist who will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machines to produce high-quality precision components for tooling to make parts according to customer specifications. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Job Duties:
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining requirements
Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each machining operation
Align and secure work pieces using clamps, vises, and other holding devices
Perform machining operations, including turning, facing, boring, drilling, tapping, milling, surface grinding, and threading, with precision and adherence to quality standards
Inspect machined components using precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators, to verify part accuracy.
Make necessary adjustments and modifications to tooling to maintain quality and productivity
Troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues and related to stamping and fabricating tooling
Collaborate with engineering and production teams improve product quality through better tool design
Set up and operate CNC Machining Center and Wire EDM (as required, training available)
Complete work orders, production reports, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area
