WyoTech Instructors have the technical aptitude and educational experience to teach the courses to which they are assigned and fulfill all administrative functions. WyoTech Instructors should work toward course mastery in all courses they are assigned and should obtain course mastery in a minimum of two WyoTech course cycles. Requirements Responsibilities Administrative Adherence to WyoTech policies and procedures as stated in the Employee Handbook and enforcement of WyoTech policies and procedures as stated in the WyoTech Catalog and the WyoTech Student Code of Conduct and Appearance Code; Advise students on attendance, grades, professionalism, and personal problems to ensure completion of their career program. Submit grades, tests, attendance, and all other material; Plan class instruction based on syllabus and ensure learning objectives are met. Ensure all educational activity is conducted ethically and legally; Utilize the CANVAS LMS system. Support EPA and safety procedures; Encourage students to do safe, quality work with safety precautions. Attend scheduled instructor meetings, graduation ceremonies, and student registrations; Participate in curriculum and professional development; Communicate effectively with all WyoTech faculty and staff. Instructional Encourage motivation and enthusiasm in the classroom; Develop a professional rapport with the students. Prepare adequately for class prior to start time; Have supplemental teaching items ready; Provide appropriate information, resources, and assignments for a lesson; Provide peer tutors as needed. Monitor class; Remain in control of the class throughout the classroom lessons and during lab time. Follow ADA Requirements. General Be available for students 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after scheduled class time. Always maintain security on all tests and lesson plans; Always maintain confidentiality. Other related duties as directed by the department coordinator/department assistant coordinator. Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet state certification, regulatory agencies, and accrediting body requirements including but not limited to: Minimum of a bachelor's degree. Must be able to provide work verification; Must pass a background check upon offer. Minimum of 5 years' actual related work experience. Essential Duties: Instruct assigned day or evening classes according to degree/program curricula Facilitate a student-centered positive and productive learning environment Coordinate, prepare, revise, and deliver curricula, syllabi, and lesson plans in work group, classroom, and/or laboratory settings per degree/program outline Prepare and maintain laboratory supplies and equipment for instructional use Advise and mentor students through their plan of study Maintain current and accurate records of assigned courses and students; submit grades Assess student learning outcomes and use the results to improve curricula Help to create new courses to meet programmatic needs Aid and participate in student recruitment and retention Maintain and post regular office hours; be accessible to students outside normal class \time Serve on standing and ad-hoc committees as assigned Participate in College training and operational events Attend and participate in graduation ceremonies Perform all other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned Salary Hire Amount: - $68,461.47 annually for each 9-month contract period -Actual amount depends on Education and Experience Required Qualifications Master's degree in Nursing Education from an accredited institution; or Master's degree in Nursing and successfully complete at least ten (10) clock hours of educational preparation in principles and methods of teaching, learning, and evaluation of performance outcomes within six (6) months of hire date; or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing and obtain a Mster's Degree in Nursing within five (5) years of hire date and successfully complete at least ten (10) clock hours of educational preparation in principles and methods of teaching, learning, and evaluation of performance outcomes within six (6)months of hire date Three years clinical experience Current unencumbered multistate or WY RN license AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR certification Current and valid state-issued driver's license Preferred Qualifications Four or more years clinical experience One year previous nursing teaching/instructor experience Two or more years previous undergraduate instructor experience in higher education
