Responsibilities include partial effort to serve in the role of co-leadership of Infection Prevention & Control (IP&C) at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. This role will involve direct reporting to the VP of IP&C and frequent interactions and directed supervision of the IP&C staff. The faculty member will also be expected to attend on the inpatient consultation service in Pediatric Infectious Disease seeing patients on both the general team and the transplant infectious diseases team. The specific breakdown to time is expected to be within a defined range that may vary from year to year depending to division needs. The faculty member will also be expected to attend on a periodic basis in the outpatient clinic, seeing patients in the general referral pool as well as perhaps building a panel of his/her own patients based on clinical interest/expertise. The faculty member will also be expected to participate in some research activity. The scope of this research could be very broad: independent projects of the faculty member's own choosing; specific projects within IP&C under the supervision of the VP; collaborator on other projects within or outside the division. All members of the division receive fractional effort for their teaching and administrative duties. Qualified candidates will be eligible to practice medicine in the State of Illinois, have completed an accredited pediatric infectious diseases fellowship program and be board certified. Board eligible candidates that have recently completed a fellowship and with plans to take the board exam in the subsequent year are also welcome. An instructor will expose teens to a wide range of activities and concepts to meet measurable programmatic outcomes. The instructor will recruit, teach, and mentor teens and will also manage operational pieces such as program planning and budget creation. Major Duties and Responsibilities: • Expose a diverse group of teen participants to various facets of the computer science industry while fostering a positive, safe, and collaborative atmosphere for all teen participants. • Maintain knowledge of current industry trends, technology, and concepts. • Prepare, organize, and supervise the weekly lessons that align with curriculum. • Develop, plan, and implement high-quality related field trips, master classes, events, and guest visits to enhance instruction and training. • Provide supervision during program field trips and other youth engagement opportunities. • Expose teens to computer science professions. • Report all problems or concerns and program updates to After School Matters Program Specialist to maintain consistent lines of communication throughout the program session. • Attend all planning and program dates, including: Instructor orientation, professional development workshops, meetings and other required sessions. • Participate in the recruitment, interview, and selection process of teen program participants. • Manage and track program activities such as attendance, interview outcomes, enrollment, evaluation surveys, and pertinent student records in an online data tracking system (CitySpan). • Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: • Supervise teens at an average of 15:1, instructor: teen ratio Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Demonstrated practical knowledge of computer science • Knowledge of the CSTA Standards • Creative problem-solving skills • Customer service skills; ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders (teen participants, parents, ASM programs staff, vendors, etc.) • Cultural competence Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in relevant content area etc. is preferred. • Familiarity with specific Chicago neighborhoods is required. • Experience teaching, specifically teenagers, is highly preferred. • Commitment to diversity and inclusion is required. Position Summary SE's core programs are the Community Business Academy (CBA) and Business Acceleration Services (BAS). The CBA is a twelve-session, 36-hour interactive course in business basics. The core of the BAS program is business coaching. Sunshine Enterprises is seeking instructors to teach our Community Business Academy. The CBA Instructor position will provide facilitation and instruction for one session of the CBA and coaching for selected clients within the course. The CBA curriculum is designed for in-person but has also been facilitated online through the Digital Community Business Academy (DCBA) Essential Duties and Responsibilities The duties include but are not limited to the following: Attend CBA Instructor Training Attend Rising Tide CBA Instructor Certification training sessions Attend or shadow one digital CBA cohort (if already a CBA graduate, shadow) Provide CBA Co-Instruction and Co-Management for one digital or in-person CBA cohort Serve as co-instructor for one CBA cohort Co-host online or in-person cohorts Prep for class and review the curriculums Communicate with participants as needed.
