How You Will Make an Impact
A Truck Installation Technician at Reading Truck works under the direction of the Shop Supervisor to complete the installation of specialty truck equipment
such as service utility bodies, stake bodies, dump bodies, hitches, and other
commercial truck accessories.
The Nuts and Bolts
Follow safety rules and comply with all PPE requirements.
Install truck bodies, plows, commercial truck accessories
Mount hitches, shelves, drawers, ladder racks, mud flaps, etc.
Basic weld experience (helpful)
Train with other mechanics as needed
Other duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager
Required Credentials2+ years of welding skills (metal and aluminum)2+ years of electrical wiring Ability to build schematics Complex Hydraulics knowledge and experience (a plus) Independent ability to troubleshoot Ability to operate power hand tools (and have basic tools)

POSITION DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Follow instructions to accurately install a variety of flat panel signage, post and panel, and full-color graphic images in various circumstances. Interior and Exterior.
2. Maintain an accurate, written schedule reflecting all installation commitments. Set and achieve project deadlines.
3. Consult with sales staff to provide accurate estimates of labor time and to set realistic deadlines.
4. Maintain strong lines of communication with sales staff and promptly answer messages/questions. Accurately relay project details to sales staff and customers.
5. Adhere to industry-standard safety practices. Operate all tools and equipment according to specified safety requirements.
6. Perform advance site visits, obtaining and relaying necessary information for accurate quoting and production of the product.

The Fireplace Installer will be responsible for the on-time installation of fireplaces. Accurately and carefully, load/unload & install products for customers in excellent condition. Address all customers in a courteous, respectful manner at all times. Communicate via company cell phone; report any installation issues to install manager & site Supers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Load and inspect all products to be installed for that day
Review all paperwork before leaving warehouse to insure you have all the correct information and materials needed for installs
Ensure absolute customer satisfaction in all forms of communication.
Drive safely at all times when in company vehicle. Follow all company policies with regard to driver safety and distracted driving.
Inspect Jobsite for safety and readiness
Review paperwork for job site readiness so that install can be completed on first time.
Safely bring all products necessary for install into area where work will be completed by utilizing all materials handling equipment needed.
Follow all install policies and procedures as outlined by Rio Grande Co. and manufacturer installation manual
Complete all work for each job while still on site. Take appropriate photographs and complete all paperwork as outlined in standard work procedures.
Communicate with job superintendent, Fireplace install manager and sales representative if any issues occurred when fireplace was not completed.
Once day's work is completed, return to warehouse.
Turn in paperwork to install manager to review (along with photo card)

NFI Certification, preferred

Key Performance Indicators:
Experience working in HVAC and/or Framing
Produce a high level of customer service with detailed work and accuracy

Not afraid of heights, able to use ladder, 40 feet and higher
Heavy lifting, up to 125 pounds

Job Summary Installer I is an entry-level flooring installer with basic knowledge of construction and flooring installation. This role is a step above a helper but not yet ready to work independently.
Installer I is expected to:
Assist in LVT, sheet vinyl, tile, and carpet installations under supervision.
Develop precision, speed, and efficiency in flooring installation techniques.
Learn proper subfloor prep, measuring, cutting, and material handling.
Work closely with senior installers and team leaders to build technical expertise.
Maintain professionalism, safety, and work ethic on job sites.
Key Responsibilities 1. Flooring Installation Support
Assist in installing LVT, sheet vinyl, carpet, and tile under direct supervision.
Measure, cut, and fit materials with increasing accuracy over time.
Learn how to heat weld and flash cove sheet vinyl under supervision.
Follow instructions from senior installers to ensure quality and efficiency.
2. Subfloor Preparation & Site Readiness
Help with subfloor cleaning, leveling, and moisture testing as directed.
Assist in removing old flooring, adhesives, and debris before installation.
Learn proper floor patching and prep techniques.
3. Tool & Material Handling
Set up and maintain all tools and equipment needed for installations.
Handle, transport, and store flooring materials properly to prevent damage.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times.
4. Training & Skill Development
Actively participate in on-the-job training and company-provided learning.
Ask questions, take notes, and apply new skills daily to improve.
Learn how to read blueprints, job specs, and layout plans.
Progress toward working more independently with a goal of becoming an Installer II.
5. Professionalism & Job-Site Conduct
Arrive on time and ready to work-showing reliability and commitment.
Follow all safety regulations and proper worksite procedures.

Qualifications
Basic construction or flooring experience
Understanding of hand and power tools (experience using tape measure, knives, and drills).
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods.
Willingness to learn, take instruction, and improve skills.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and professionalism.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
