THE SIGNIFICANT WORK YOU WILL UNDERTAKE The Tile Installer's primary responsibility will be the installation of custom tile in residential and commercial projects. Accurately measure, mark, clean, and level surfaces designated for tiling, adhering strictly to project plans, blueprints, or numbered sequences. Proficiently remove old flooring and adhesive when necessary. Expertly mix thin set, mortar, adhesive, and grout. Precisely apply adhesives to create a base for the tiles using a brush, trowel, and/or screed; affix lath, waterproof paper, or apply cement mortar coat onto a metal screen. Apply grouting, caulk, sealants, or other substances to installed surfaces, ensuring proper grouting between joints. Skillfully cut and shape tile or stone to specified dimensions for installation, utilizing power saws or tile cutters. Handle and position materials as required by the project specifications. Seek clarification on work orders from the Superintendent and effectively communicate daily progress to the Field Superintendent, maintaining continuous communication as needed for scheduling purposes.
