Shift: Night Shift
State License for fire alarm installations
This one is night work, Sun-Thurs, and requires travel of 2-3 weeks at a time. Candidates should be receptive to being away from home on project sites for 6-8 weeks with 2 week rotation at the job site. I believe a company truck is included but, make sure candidates have reliable transportation for at least the first few weeks. We pay mileage and drive time and hotels are covered. Per diem is $45/day for food. Please understand that state licenses are required for just about all of these locations so please make sure your candidates have the state license for fire alarm installations.
Requirements:
Experience as a Fire Alarm Project Technician.
Available for extensive travel, 3-4 weeks away from home at a time within a 4 hour radius of your residence.
Flexible and willing to work on-call, day or night shifts as the jobs require.
Experience reading blueprints and site maps.
Knowledge of fire alarm panels definitely a requirement! Experience in CCTV, voice, and data cabling is a PLUS!!.
Knowledgeable in identifying independent colors and learning color codes.
Ability to work in cramped spaces.
Ability to operate a BOOM or scissor lift, and ability to work at heights.
Has basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation.
Must have knowledge of cabling infrastructure.
Proficient with the use of smartphones, personal computers, including email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office programs.
Experience in conduit installation is a plus.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years.
Responsibilities:
Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various fire alarm systems.
Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work.
Ensuring all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations.
Installing of cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct.
Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed cable systems and component devices are?operational.
Troubleshoot issues with cable networks.
Adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by Wachter, our customers, or OSHA.

Engineering technicians are a key piece in the assessment and deployment of continuous improvement ideas.
The Maintenance Engineering Technicians may be asked to assist with laboratory work including performing experiments, analytical testing, and data management.
Primary Responsibilities
Works closely to identify, evaluate and eliminate safety hazards in collaboration with other staff members.
Receive improvement ideas and determine if and how to implement across the following areas:
Equipment Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Design: performs first line maintenance, troubleshooting of equipment failures, identifies and validates work arounds or design changes, performs and documents solutions under the direction of the Production Engineer Manager or step-up.
Scheduling: creates and ensures adherence to scheduled maintenance plan for areas of responsibility.
Documentation: updates or creates maintenance SOPs for engineering approval and operational adoption.
Builds and validates incremental system design changes (prototypes) under the direction of production engineering. Provides practical feedback to engineering to improve design usability or effectivity.

Qualifications
Must be a high school graduate with 5 or more years of experience in a technical role with hands-on mechanical or electrical assembly and troubleshooting OR an associate degree (or higher) in a technical field of study and hands-on assembly and troubleshooting experience (hobby or professional level).
Must have the ability to investigate and analyze mechanical and chemical processes and equipment.
Must be able to communicate clearly in both verbal and written formats the challenges and opportunities that arise in a manufacturing/production environment.

Assist the Project Manager regarding on-site scheduling of work activities and timely delivery of equipment
Responsible for the connection of control panels, application requirements, wire concealment, and security software installation

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in service, repair, and installation of commercial HVAC equipment
EPA Universal certification required
Ability to solve a variety of technical issues, including complex “high level” including but not limited to larger tonnage and capacity HVAC equipment (chilled water, DX, hot water, steam), complex systems, automated controls, etc.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics to aid in troubleshooting analysis
Experience with pneumatic and DDC controls, and computerized building automation system controls

Available for after-hours scheduled and/or emergency maintenance/repair functions
Responsibilities
Work independently, proficiently maintaining, and repairing HVAC equipment
Identify technical issues and provide solutions on projects, include costs associated, detail estimates of labor and materials, and procure materials required for projects
Coordinate and follow-up with customers regarding any maintenance issues, work orders, or scheduled shut down of equipment for repairs or replacement
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, co-workers, and suppliers
Ensure installations and repairs are in compliance with all applicable local, state and federal costs, regulations, and company directives
Identify/make recommendations for building improvements to increase energy efficiency, dependability, and performance
Maintain, operate, and secure a company issued vehicle in accordance with company rules.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Investigates problems and performs repairs on various mechanical and electrical equipment in heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
Performs preventative maintenance on various mechanical and electrical equipment in heating and cooling systems.
Monitors and inspects heating and cooling systems to ensure continued proper operation.
Locates, picks up, and delivers parts required for department needs.
Checks and changes air filters on a regular basis.
Assesses drain problems and performs any needed repairs.
Installs humidifiers into system and connects water and drainpipes.
Determines amount of airflow required to keep carbon dioxide at a safe level; ensures this level is maintained.
